NOBELIUM (USA) - (O Peslier): Slow to begin. When questioned regarding his tactics from the 800 metres, the rider explained that he was instructed to lead on NOBELIUM (USA), however after being slow to begin he was unable to do so. He added that the colt had a tendency to hang in for the majority of the race and resented the kickback, which didn’t allow him to improve behind runners rounding the turn. He further added on pulling up did NOBELIUM (USA) did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SOMERSET HOUSE (USA) - (C O'Donoghue): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. ZUMURUDEE (USA) - (C Soumillon): Slow to begin and then bumped another runner. AL BAREZ (USA) - (J Crowley): Slow to begin and then bumped another runner. VICTOR KALEJS (USA) - (P Graberg): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. THEGREATCOLLECTION (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Travelled wide without cover throughout. CAPEZZANO (USA) - (W Buick): Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced throughout. FAWREE (USA) - (B Fayd'Herbe): Stumbled on jumping and dislodged its rider. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr. M de Kock was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. General: Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards viewed the available footage and interviewed the starter and rider B Fayd’Herbe to assert whether FAWREE (USA) had been denied a fair start. It was established that as the blindfold was removed from the colt, momentarily prior to the start being affected, FAWREE (USA) lunged forward and made contact with the starting gates and dislodged its rider. As the Stewards were satisfied that FAWREE’s (USA) actions were attributable to itself with no external contribution to the incident, the colt was confirmed a runner and correct weight declared.

Checked off heels approaching the 150 metres. EMOTIONLESS (IRE) - (W Buick): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. GOOD TRIP (IRE) - (S Al Mazrooei): Raced wide without cover from the 1600 metres. POSTPONED (IRE) - (A Atzeni): Difficult to load. General: Jockey A Atzeni (POSTPONED (IRE)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars being that approaching the 150 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of DYLAN MOUTH (IRE)(L Dettori), resulting in that horse having to be checked. A Atzeni had his license to ride in races suspended for two race meetings (17.03.2017 Jebel Ali & 18.03.2017 Al Ain). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account A Atzeni’s guilty plea, good careless riding record and deemed the interference to be in the mid-range. Jockey A Atzeni (POSTPONED (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(i) for hitting his mount in front of the saddle whilst holding his whip in the forehand. A Atzeni was also reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for hitting his mount continuously without giving it a chance to respond.

MUFFRI'HA (IRE) - (P Cosgrave): Near the 1400 metres restrained off heels when over-racing and then continued to pull hard. EPSOM ICON (GB) - (M Monaghan): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. Near the 300 metres lay out. ELLEVAL (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Bumped on jumping and raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 300 metres steadied off heels of another runner. PROMISING RUN (USA) - (R Moore): Near the 100 metres steadied when taken out off its running. ROI DE VITESSE (IRE) - (D O'Neill): Commenced awkwardly and then shifted out. ERTIJAAL (AUS) - (J Crowley): Slow to begin. Shortly after the start eased out of the race. A subsequent veterinary examination on the track revealed the horse to be severely lame in the left foreleg. ERTIJAAL (AUS) was transported to the Dubai Equine Hospital for further assessment where it was established the horse had fractured its left front semamoid and was humanly euthanized.
