MOUBARAK (AE) - (G Avranche): Tightened for room and hampered shortly after the start. AF MAFATEN (AE) - (A Fresu): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and hampered another runner. Approaching the 1900 metres was tightened for room. ASYAD (AE) - (T O'Shea): Hung right for the majority of the race. SHAHRAZAD DE RODAIM (AE) - (R Ffrench): Bumped on jumping. WADOOD W'RSAN (AE) - (B Fayd’Herbe): Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for KABEER AL REEF (AE)(S Hitchcott) having to be restrained when tightened for room approaching the 1900 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 1900 metres ASYAD (AE)(T O’Shea) shifted in whilst hanging in, resulting in AF MAFATEN (AE)(A Fresu) being tightened for room and taken inwards onto KABEER AL REEF (AE), which had to be restrained and taken inwards onto MARJAN AL REEF (AE)(J Santiago), resulting in that horse being bumped and having to be steadied. The Stewards attributed this interference to the racing manners of ASYAD (AE) and therefore no action was taken.

General: Jockey G Avranche (BASHAYER (FR)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using his whip to excess, in that he used it on 14 occasions. In determining penalty Stewards took into consideration that this was G Avranche’s first breach of this Rule as well as BASHAYER (FR) won the race by a short margin. Jockey R Mullen (AF TATHOOR (AE)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using his whip to excess, in that he used it on 15 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was R Mullen’s second breach of this rule this season. Trainer Mr J de Roualle (HAMMSA (FR)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late gear change to race the mare with cheek pieces. Stewards noted that Mr J de Roualle had incorrectly declared his gear for all his runners for the week and therefore directed that the AED 500 fine would be for all the changes.
