HASIB (AE) - (A Al Siyabi): Slow to begin. MURTAJEL W'RSAN (AE) - (M Monaghan): Approaching the 1100 metres had to be restrained off the heels of AF KHAFAJEH (AE) who shifted in. AF KHAFAJEH (AE) - (R de Oliveira): Began awkwardly and was then bumped by another runner. Rider reported that the filly raced greenly throughout and hung out at the turn from the 1000 metres. ES AMIRA (AE) - (T O'Shea): Hampered shortly after the start when bumped by another runner. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for MURTAJEL W’RSAN (AE)(M Monaghan) having to be restrained approaching the 1100 metres. On the evidence it was established that AF KHAFAJEH (AE)(R de Oliveira), which was racing greenly shifted in abruptly resulting in MURTAJEL W’RSAN (AE) being restrained from that filly’s heels. As Jockey R de Oliveira was attempting to keep the filly straight at this stage of the race, no action was taken. Trainer Mr A Al Shamsi (MANTAHAINA (AE)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 28(iii) for the use of the ERA colours.

Shifted out abruptly at the start. Passing the 1000 metres hung out to the outside of the track and took no competitive part for the remainder of the race. Trainer Mr E Oertel was notified that a warning would be placed on the colt regarding its racing manners. CATCH ME HIPOLYTE (FR) - (P Christakes): Hampered at the start and lost ground. DEYAAR (FR) - (D Milan): Leaving the mounting yard was unruly and dislodged its rider. At the barriers, threw itself to the ground and was subsequently passed suitable to race on veterinarian advice. FIRDOS (FR) - (J Jeong): Hampered when bumped at the start. MARBOUH (GB) - (M Naseb): Hampered at the start. QADER (FR) - (D Dunn): Slow to begin. SNAFFY (FR) - (K Ramsamy): Slow to begin. When being unsaddled after the race, got loose when the blinkers where being removed from the colt. SNAFFY (FR) galloped up the straight where he broke through the outside rail and was subsequent recaptured. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. General: Apprentice K Ramsamy (SNAFFY (FR)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 16 occasions. K Ramsamy was further fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for hitting his mount continuously without giving it a chance to respond.
