AL JAZI (AE) - (T O'Shea): Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. DAMEER W'RSAN (AE) - (A McLean): Re-saddled on arrival at the barriers. Hampered when commencing to weaken from the 600 metres. Near the 400 metres was restrained by its rider and lost ground. Rider reported that when weakening the mare commenced to lay out proving difficult to maintain his line resulting in him having to take preventative measures to avoid other runners. MADJANTHIS (US) - (R Mullen): Commenced extremely awkwardly. MARBOUH (GB) - (S Al Mazrooei): During the preliminary, dislodged its rider and galloped a short distance before being recaptured. The gelding subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was passed suitable to race. Apprentice S Al Mazrooei was examined by the club’s doctor and also passed fit to fulfill his engagement. Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 800 metres until the 400 metres. MURAWIH W'RSAN (AE) - (M Monaghan): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. RASEKH (FR) - (A Al Siyabi): Commenced awkwardly. SECRET SENTINEL (FR) - (A de Vries): Bumped on jumping. ESWARAH (US) - (G Avranche): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. ES MAYDAN (AE) - (B Reis): Over-raced in the early stages.

LAST FIGHTER (IRE) - (J Santiago): Slow to begin before being bumped by another runner shortly after. MUNDAHESH (IRE) - (S Al Mazrooei): Hampered and had to be restrained near the 400 metres. SNOW SQUALL (GB) - (C O'Donoghue): After being loaded into the barrier became extremely fractious, attempted to burrow under the front gates and became stuck for a considerable time. After being freed, the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to race, therefore acting on this advice Stewards ordered the withdrawal of SNOW SQUALL (GB) at 6:31pm. Trainer Mr A bin Harmash was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. RASSAM (IRE) - (A de Vries): Bumped heavily with another runner shortly after the start. MAYSOOR (AUS) - (C Noble): Near the 400 metres was bumped on the hindquarter by another runner. During the race lost its right hind plate. MUSTAHDAF (USA) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin then bumped shortly after. ALMERZEM (USA) - (F Jara): Slow to begin. General: Jockey A Fresu (PRINCE SUHAIL (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(viii) for hitting his mount with his whip arm extended above shoulder height. Jockey T O’Shea (CARBON DATING (IRE)) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 400 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of MUNDAHESH (IRE)(S Al Mazrooei), resulting in that gelding being hampered and having to restrain to avoid CARBON DATING’s (IRE) heels. T O’Shea had his license to ride in races suspended for two race meetings (Meydan 01.12.2016 & Al Ain 02.12.2016). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account T O’Shea’s not guilty plea, good careless riding record and deemed the interference to be in the low-range.

When questioned, the rider explained that the bit slipped through the horse’s mouth shortly after the start and for this reason he was unable to control ARRAB (AE) throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. BAYAN (AE) - (M Monaghan): Commenced awkwardly. DJELILA AL MELS (FR) - (P Dobbs): Brushed by another runner over the concluding stages. MH TAWAG (AE) - (T O'Shea): Over the concluding stages lay out and brushed another runner.
