Had to be restrained and taken wider on the track near the 1200 metres by another runner. JUNUNEE (IRE) - (C Noble): Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between runners. Rider reported that the colt hung right throughout. FORMIDABLE SECRET (FR) - (X Ziani): Began awkwardly. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for GODREVY (USA)(I Koyuncu) having to be steadied passing the 1000 metres. Stewards were of the opinion at approaching the 1000 metres GODREVY (USA), which was racing to the inside of JUNUNEE (IRE)(C Noble), shifted out slightly as JUNUNEE (IRE) shifted in marginally, resulting in GODREVY (USA) having to be steadied. Both apprentices I Koyuncu and C Noble were advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a catastrophic injury to its right hind leg and as a result TALYANI (GB) was humanely euthanized on track. SHAAKIS (IRE) - (D O'Neill): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider could offer no explanation other than SHAAKIS (IRE) can mix its form. GAVROCHE (USA) - (C Noble): Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 400 metres lay in under pressure before being straightened by its rider. WHEAT SHEAF (GB) - (S Hitchcott): Approaching the 400 metres had to be steadied of heels when tightened for room. CRY JOY (USA) - (X Ziani): Began awkwardly. Hung out near the 1100 metres. ASATIR (USA) - (M Monaghan): Began awkwardly. JINTSHI (GB) - (R Mullen): Lost left front plate during the race. General: Stewards inquired into the reason WHEAT SHEAF (GB)(S Hitchcott) having to be steadied approaching the 400 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 400 metres, WHEAT SHEAF (GB) had to be steadied off the heels of GAVROCHE (USA)(C Noble), which had been shifting ground and shifted in when laying in under pressure. At this stage WHEAT SHEAF (GB) was also tightened for room between GAVROCHE (USA) and PRINCE SUHAIL (IRE)(A Fresu), which also shifting out. As Stewards were of the view that the majority of the interference occurred due to the racing manners of GAVROCHE (USA), no action was taken, however jockey A Fresu and apprentice C Noble were both advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.

PUPIL (IRE) - (C Noble): Near the 600 metres had to be steadied and bumped another runner when tightened for room. SUGAR BOY (GER) - (P Sirigu): Began awkwardly and lost ground. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for PUPIL (IRE)(C NOBLE) being steadied near the 600 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 600 metres PUPIL (IRE), which was racing tight to the outside of GOBOOLL (GB)(H Bentley), bumped LONG WATER (USA)(R Ffrench) and as a result was awkwardly placed on the heels of GOBOOLL (GB), resulting in PUPIL (IRE) having to be steadied. As Stewards could not attribute any fault to anyone rider, all riders were advised to exercise more care in a similar situations.

Near the 1100 metres was taken wider on the track and was severely hampered by another runner. Raced greenly from the 800 metres. CACHAO (GB) - (X Ziani): Commenced to over-race near the 1300 metres. Rounding the turn near the 1200 metres shifted out abruptly hampering other runners. Rider reported that the colt raced extremely ungenerously and failed to handle the turn at the 1200 metres. HELLO (IRE) - (P Dobbs): Near the 100 metres shifted out and bumped another runner. Hung out rounding the turn from the 1200 metres. MORE TO COME (GB) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin then eased off heels shortly after. PICTOGRAPH (USA) - (C O'Donoghue): Hampered by another runner near the 1200 metres. SECRET TRADE (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. TAUTOLOGY (GB) - (J Butterfield): Slow to begin then eased off heels shortly after.
