ZAIN EMPIRE (GB) - (I Koyuncu): Slow to begin. Near the 400 metres shifted in and bumped another runner and became unbalanced. INTENSE EFFORT (IRE) - (A de Vries): Approaching the 400 metres shifted out abruptly and bumped another runner. Hampered near the 200 metres. SAILOR'S WAY (GB) - (P Sirigu): Stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. Trainer Mr O. Daraj was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. INITIAL (IRE) - (A Fresu): Near the 200 metres shifted in abruptly and hampered another runner. LAKE HAWK (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Near the 400 metres was checked off the heels of other runners. DOLLY MIXTURES (GB) - (C Noble): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. MARHI (USA) - (S Mazur): Threw its head on jumping. General: Stewards inquired into an incident near the 400m where LAKE HAWK (IRE)(T O’Shea) was checked when racing behind ZAIN EMPIRE (GB)(I Koyuncu) and INTENSE EFFORT (IRE)(A de Vries). On the evidence INTENSE EFFORT (IRE) shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of A De Vries, while at the same time ZAIN EMPIRE (GB) shifted in slightly under pressure. As Stewards were satisfied that this incident was not attributable to any one rider and that A De Vries was making an effort to straighten his mount, no action was taken other than to remind riders to exercise care in future.
