Raced ungenerously throughout. Near the 400 metres, shifted in and tightened another runner. MUHARRIB (IRE) - (P Sirigu): Commenced awkwardly. Slow to begin. General: Stewards enquired into the reason for CORSO COMO (FR) (A Fresu) having to be checked when tightened for room at the 400 metres. It was established that DENZILLE LANE (IRE) (P Dobbs) shifted out whilst being ridden along in an attempt to gain clear running and LIGHT BRIGADE (USA) (R Ffrench), shifted in slightly at the same time. Taking into account the minimal shifts from both DENZILLE LANE (IRE) and LIGHT BRIGADE (USA) and as blame could not be attributed to any one rider, Stewards reminded both P Dobbs and R Ffrench to take care when shifting ground in the future. Jockey P Dobbs (DENZILLE LANE (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(i) for hitting his mount in front of the saddle whilst holding the whip in his forehand. Jockey C O'Donoghue (PICTOGRAPH (USA)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip on 13 occasions, one more than permitted.

C O’Donoghue added that his mount may appreciate races of a further distance as CHESS MASTER (IRE) did not respond to his aggressive riding over the concluding stages.
