Near the 300 metres, eased off heels of another runner. RAMADI AL RAWASI (AE) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin. WAFI W'RSAN (AE) - (C Beasley): Hung right for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of mucus which may have affected its performance. Rider A Fresu was reminded of his obligations to keep his mount straight whenever possible. LIBYAN PEACE (IRE) - (R Mullen): Raced ungenerously from the 300 metres. MURRAYFIELD (USA) - (L Tarentaal): Bounded on jumping. TRIBALISM (USA) - (C Beasley): Shortly after the start, was bumped when tightened for room. INTERMEDIUM (GB) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly then tightened for room when bumped by other runners. WHAT ASHAM (GB) - (A McLean): Bumped on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Ms. B Deutrom was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. NOMADIC (IRE) - (P Sirigu): On jumping, bumped by another runner and tightened for room. ISTIQLAAL (GB) - (J Rosales): Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Mr S Al Shamsi that the colt had injured itself whilst being loaded onto the truck to be transported to the course, Stewards permitted the late withdrawal of ISTIQLAAL (GB) at 11:15 am. Trainer Mr S Al Shamsi was advised that prior to the colt being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for ISTIQLAAL (GB).

FARRAR (AE) - (S De Sousa): Shifted out abruptly on jumping. MAALY AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Slow to begin, was tightened for room shortly after. Lay in under pressure from the 300 metres. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the colt, F Jara explained that he was given no specific instructions, however, after beginning fairly MAALY AL REEF (AE) resented the kickback and settled at the rear of the field. F Jara added that once he placed MAALY AL REEF (AE) under pressure near the 1000 metres, the colt picked up and improved around the field from this point. SHABOKAH (AE) - (D de Barros): Slow to begin. SHAWLAH (AE) - (T O’Shea): Slow to begin. DAYIMAH W'RSAN (AE) - (P Cosgrave): Fractious in the mounting yard, kicking the fence.
