CENTRIFUGAL (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin and bumped another runner on jumping. DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) - (P Dobbs): Commenced awkwardly. Laid in from the 200 metres. HIDDEN JOURNEY (USA) - (B Doyle): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding, the trainer Mr G Selvaratnam explained that HIDDEN JOURNEY (USA) was better suited to racing at Sharjah compared to racing on a steep incline at Jebel Ali. ARCARIUS (GB) - (A Fresu): Lay out from the 800 metres. WONDER OF DUBAI (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. ANBAR (GB) - (J Rosales): Commenced awkwardly and slow to begin. DUBAWI'S THUNDER (GB) - (P Cosgrave): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. MINIATURIST (FR) - (A McLean): Commenced awkwardly. LIGHT BRIGADE (USA) - (C Beasley): Slow to begin. Eased off heels near the 150 metres. NORTH POLE (GB) - (I Poullis): Bumped by another runner on jumping. General: Jockey B Doyle (HIDDEN JOURNEY (USA)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was B Doyle’s second breach of the Rule this season. Further Jockey B Doyle was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(i) for hitting his mount in front of the saddle whilst holding the whip in the forehand. Stewards took into account that this was B Doyle’s first breach of this Rule this season. Stewards inquired into the reason for LIGHT BRIGADE (USA)(C Beasley) having to ease off the heels of DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA)(P Dobbs) near the 150 metres. It was established that when DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) laid in over the final 200 metres LIGHT BRIGADE (USA) had to momentarily ease when crossed by that gelding near the 150 metres. In the circumstances P Dobbs was advised to take care in future when allowing his mounts to shift ground.
