Was restrained by its rider in the early stages to take up the position behind another runner. SKY JOCKEY (GB) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly. MUHARRIB (IRE) - (A de Vries): Bumped on jumping. AD DABARAN (GER) - (A Fresu): Re-saddled at the start. COURT ROOM (IRE) - (F Jara): Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having blood in its mouth and passed suitable to start. A subsequent report from trainer Ms M Ritchie advised that COURT ROOM (IRE) had suffered a fracture to its right hind pastern. LOGISTICS (FR) - (P Cosgrave): After a request from its rider, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to start. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of LOGISTICS (FR) at 6:28 pm. A further veterinary examination of the horse revealed lameness to both fore-legs and swelling to the tendons. Trainer Mr H Al Alawi was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again it pass a suitability test conducted by an ERA veterinary officer. PRADESH (IRE) - (P Dobbs): Raced wide without cover throughout. KALKRAND (IRE) - (P Sirigu): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 1200 metres checked by its rider and became unbalanced. QANNAAS (USA) - (D O'Neill): Bumped on jumping. MONOLIGHT (GB) - (I Serry): Bumped on jumping. Near the 1200 metres shifted in abruptly and hampered another runner. General: Jockey I Serry (MONOLIGHT (GB)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars being that near the 1200 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of KALKRAND (IRE)(P Sirigu), resulting in that gelding having to be checked by its rider and becoming unbalanced. I Serry had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 2 race-meetings (Meydan 8.2.2018 and Jebel 9.1.2018). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account I Serry’s guilty plea, good careless riding record and deemed the interference to be in the mid-range.

AF TAREH AL THAHAB (AE) - (A Fresu): Raced wide without cover throughout. MURAWIH W'RSAN (AE) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin and bumped by another runner. General: Jockey R Smithers (AL HADAF (AE)) was fined AED 1000 for using his whip to excess under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a), in that he used it on 13 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was R Smithers second offence under this rule for the season.
