A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH which may have affected its performance. AL DHEEB (FR) - (B Pinheiro): Bounded at the start and lost ground. LA YFOOTKUM (AE) - (A McLean): Commenced awkwardly. MEN ALEMARAT (AE) - (A Al Siyabi): Commenced awkwardly before being tightened for room between other runners. LIVE RICH (US) - (J Rosales): Raced wide without cover from the 1300 metres. TULUM (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Approaching the 1200 metres momentarily eased off heels of another runner. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, the rider advised that AF TAAZEF (AE) commenced to weaken early in the race and when placed under pressure hung left. SHAHRAZAD DE RODAIM (AE) - (S Al Balushi): Slow to begin. AF ESHAAR (AE) - (S Hitchcott): On jumping was bumped by another runner. K'HAYLAN AL REEF (AE) - (J Rosales): Slow into stride before being eased off heels of another runner and losing ground. Near the 600 metres lay out and bumped another runner. Trainer Mr M Ali was advised a warning would be placed on the colt regarding its pre-race manners. SAFIN AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Approaching the 300 metres had to shift out when improving onto the heels of another runner. DARAJAT (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Raced ungenerously throughout. Near the 600 metres bumped by another runner. Hung in under pressure in the straight. General: Jockey B Pinheiro (DARAJAT (AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 15 occasions. Stewards took into account that it was his first breach of this rule for the season. Jockey G Avranche (TAWAZUN (AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr S Al Mazrouei was notified that the horse would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. On the evidence and available footage, it was established that near the 400 metres AF MEGHWAAR (AE)(A McLean) shifted in resulting in AF SEUFI (AE) being tightened onto the heels of HEBAYEB AL GHARBIA (AE) and having to be checked. Stewards noted that Apprentice A Mclean did attempt to straighten his mount soon after AF MEGHWAAR (AE) shifted ground inwards and therefore was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i).
