AINHOA TOPCHEF (FR) - (A Fresu): Commenced awkwardly. SADEQ AL WAAD (US) - (F Jara): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. TULUM (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin. AL DARISS W'RSAN (AE) - (M Zeeshan): Near the 900 metres was taken out of its course and having to be restrained off heels. AMEED (AE) - (A M Al Balushi): Hampered at the start when bumped by another runner. AZRAFF W'RSAN (AE) - (T Marquand): Near the 900 metres had to be eased off heels. KUHILAN DUBAI (AE) - (A McLean): Raced ungenerously in the early stages and commenced to hang left from the 1000 metres proving difficult for its rider to control. Made the home turn extremely wide due to hanging left. Trainer Mr A Al Shamsi was advised that prior to the horse being entered to race again it must complete a satisfactory track gallop in the presence of the Stewards. MAGIC MASQUERADE (US) - (J Rosales): Shifted in at the start and bumped another runner. MARAHIB (FR) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 300 metres. MARARI DE FAUST (FR) - (A de Vries): Slow to begin. TARFAH (FR) - (C Beasley): Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for AZRAFF W'RSAN (AE)(T Marquand) having to be eased and AL DARISS W'RSAN (AE)(M Zeeshan) having to be restrained near the 900 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 1000 metres KUHILAN DUBAI (AE)(A McLean) which had been racing ungenerously commenced to hang out and in doing so shifted out near the 900 metres, resulting in AZRAFF W'RSAN (AE) having to be eased. KUHILAN DUBAI (AE) continued to hang out and severely hampered AL DARISS W'RSAN (AE), which had to be restrained off heels. As the Stewards were of the opinion that the interference occurred due to the racing manners of KUHILAN DUBAI (AE), no action was taken against any rider.

Jockey T O’Shea (AF MAHSHOUM (AE)) was advised to exercise more care after the colt was allowed to shifted ground outwards from the 300 metres, tightening the running of several runners.

Stewards' Reports for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Prep
The start of this race was delayed after it was established that the Trainers of RB SMOKIN RICH (US) and DARIUS DU PAON (FR) collected the wrong saddles. The respective riders of each horse were required to re-weigh, to ensure they were carrying the correct weight, before the Trainers were allowed to saddle their horses. AL ZAHIR (FR) - (T O'Shea): Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Approaching the 300 metres had to be steadied and change course inwards. BABEL D'AILLAS (FR) - (F Jara): Inconvenienced near the 800 metres. HAMZA (AE) - (J Rosales): Commenced awkwardly. PADDY'S DAY (US) - (K Coa): Lay out under pressure for the entire straight. RB SMOKIN RICH (US) - (H Bentley): The saddle had to be readjusted at the barrier. On return to the scales, the rider reported that the saddle shifted back on the horse in the straight. RB SO RICH (US) - (P Cosgrave): Bumped another runner shortly after the start. Near the 800 metres had to be checked when tightened for room by another runner. DARIUS DU PAON (FR) - (A de Vries): Bumped another runner shortly after the start. NAHEE (FR) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 600 metres had to be restrained when racing in restricted room. SAUTERNES AL MAURY (FR) - (S Hitchcott): Bumped by another runner shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Had a tendency to hang inwards throughout. AJS BURAQ (QA) - (A M Al Balushi): Commenced awkwardly. ALJAZI (FR) - (P Sirigu): Raced wide without cover throughout the event. SEDAN (RU) - (T Marquand): Slow to begin. Near the 800 metres, shifted in abruptly unbalancing its rider. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for NAHEE (FR)(R Mullen) having to be restrained near the 600 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 600 metres PADDY’S DAY (US)(K Coa) lay out slightly resulting in a run being presented for NAHEE (FR). Shortly after PADDY’S DAY (US) which was racing tight to the inside of AL ZAHIR (FR)(T O’Shea) shifted in slightly resulting in NAHEE (FR) having to be restrained. As the Stewards could not attribute blame on any one rider, no action was taken other than advising all riders to exercise more care in a similar situation.
