The start of this race was delayed by approximately 3 minutes due to the incident with DUC DE FAUST (FR) at the start. CRISTAL DES VIALETTES (FR) - (A McLean): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. DUC DE FAUST (FR) - (A Al Siyabi): After being loaded into the barrier DUC DE FAUST (FR) reared in its stall, as a result was examined by the club veterinary and was passed suitable to race. When fractious, the horse broke the blinkers which were replaced by the starter. On jumping, bumped by another runner. Trainer Mr I Al Hadhrami was advised that prior to the horse entering to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. MULAZIM (FR) - (T O'Shea): Shortly after the start bumped by another runner. MUSHRIF (FR) - (G Avranche): Shortly after the start bumped by another runner and became unbalanced. BARD AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout. BAREEZ W'RSAN (AE) - (C Beasley): Over-raced in the early stages. JAP TAYEB FALEK (AE) - (X Ziani): On jumping bumped by another runner. MURTAJEL W'RSAN (AE) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin. GLORY DAY (US) - (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. ARSLAN AL REEF (AE) - (B Doyle): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Eased off heels near the 300 metres. General: Jockey A Al Siyabi (DUC DE FAUST (FR)) was examined by the club doctor after the race and deemed unfit to fulfill his remaining engagements.

Eased off heels shortly after the start. When over-racing, steadied off the heels of another runner before shifting out and racing wide for the remainder of the race. HAWAFEZ (AE) - (T O'Shea): Steadied near the 400 metres when tightened for room and shortly after was inconvenienced by another runner. AF LAOWAHAH (AE) - (I Poullis): Commenced awkwardly. Shifted ground rounding the home turn when under pressure. JAP YAJOUD (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Raced wide without cover throughout. ES FNNAN (AE) - (B Doyle): On straightening had to shift out when avoiding the heels of another runner. AZ DHABYAN (AE) - (S de Sousa): Slow to begin and shifted ground abruptly outwards. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for HAWAFEZ (AE)(T O’Shea) having to be steadied near the 400 metres. On the evidence it was established that HAWAFEZ (AE) had to be steadied when weakening and tightened for room between AF LAOWAHAH (AE)(I Poullis), which rolled out slightly and DHAMIN (AE)(R Mullen) shifted in slightly. As Stewards were satisfied that not one rider was at fault, no action was taken other than to advise the riders to exercise more care in a similar situation.

INNOCUOUS (GB) - (X Ziani): Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. BILLINGSGATE (IRE) - (F Jara): Shortly after the start, hampered when bumped by other runners and lost ground. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding, the Trainer Ms. M Ritchie explained that BILLINGSGATE (IRE) is better suited to racing on turf than its previous two starts when racing on dirt. SPECIAL BOY (IRE) - (G Avranche): Held up for clear running from the 400 metres to approaching the 100 metres. EXPERT (IRE) - (A de Vries): Had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight. TAAJ (AUS) - (R Mullen): Over-raced in the early stages. On return to scale, the rider reported that the gelding raced keen and there may be something amiss with TAAJ (AUS). A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH which may have affected it performance. WELL ACQUAINTED (IRE) - (G Mosse): Stood flat-footed and lost ground (6 lengths). Eased when improving onto heels near the 1000 metres and shifted out, taking another runner wider. Near the 900 metres eased off the heels of another runner when laying out. ROCKET POWER (GB) - (C Beasley): On jumping bumped and hampered by another runner. SERENGETI SKY (USA) - (S De Sousa): Rider reported that the gelding hung left throughout. CROSS STEP (USA) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly. FIVEHUNDREDMILES (IRE) - (A Fresu): Over-raced in the early stages. WHITMAN (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly, shifted in and hampered another runner.
