BON BAISER DE FAUST (FR) - (S Hitchcott): Travelled wide without cover in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. CHADDAD (GB) - (I Al Balushi): Bumped on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. Inconvenienced near 400 metres. FAUCON DU LOUP (FR) - (P Dobbs): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the horse, rider explained that FAUCON DU LOUP (FR) began awkwardly, then resented the kickback and for this reason felt uncomfortable for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be mildly lame in the left hind leg. HAMZA (AE) - (J Rosales): Hung out during the early stages of the race. RB DIXIE BURNING (US) - (J Santiago): Bumped on jumping and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from heat stress. ASLAAN (FR) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. AF MARRAH (AE) - (S De Sousa): Rider reported that the filly hung right. SAUTERNES AL MAURY (FR) - (C Beasley): Rider reported that the horse hung right. General: Jockey D O'Neill (AL ZAHIR (FR)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 17 occasions. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was D O'Neill’s first breach of this rule this season but also the grossness of the breach. Prior to correct weight, Trainer Mr S bin Al Hajri (second place getter, CHADDAD (GB)) lodged an objection against the winner MAWAHIB (FR) (T O’Shea) alleging interference near the 400 metres. On the evidence and available footage, it was established that CHADDAD (GB) was inconvenienced when MAWAHIB (FR) shifted out marginally near the 400 metres. As Stewards did not believe that any interference suffered to CHADDAD (GB) was greater than the winning margin of three-quarters of a length, the objection was dismissed and correct weight declared.
