A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of mucus which may have affected its performance. POLYBIUS (GB) - (C Soumillon): On the way to the barrier, dislodged its rider and galloped a considerable distance and as a result, the Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 9:20 pm. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. EQTIRAAN (IRE) - (C Beasley): Slow to begin. OUT DO (GB) - (O Murphy): Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 400 metres shifted in to improve its position and bumped another runner. VAN DER DECKEN (GB) - (W Buick): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. KANANEE (USA) - (S Hitchcott): On jumping bumped on the hindquarter. TAAMOL (IRE) - (S Al Mazrooei): Raced ungenerously in the early part of the race. NOIVADO (IRE) - (R Mullen): Rider reported that approaching the 400 metres, the gelding went amiss behind and for this reason eased NOIVADO (IRE) out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the left hind-leg. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for NOIVADO (IRE). General: Trainer Mr D O’Meara (OUT DO (GB)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late application to race the gelding with a shadow roll. Jockey C Soumillon (POLYBIUS (GB)) was examined by the club’s doctor after being dislodged from his mount and passed fit to fulfill his remaining engagement. Jockey J Doyle (BACCARAT (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions.
