ALMANAARA (IRE) - (J Crowley): Bumped on jumping. BIRMANO (USA) - (R Mullen): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider could offer no real explanation other than BIRMANO (USA) would appreciate today’s run and races over a further distance. MUTAHADDITH (GB) - (T O'Shea): Travelled wide without cover in the middle stages. AJRAAM (USA) - (F Jara): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. MOOSIR (USA) - (D O'Neill): When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider explained that from the wide barrier, he had to work hard in the early stages to obtain a forward position which in his opinion contributed to the gelding not responding his riding when placed under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial wound to the left hind-leg and further, an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH which may have affected its performance. STRONG CHEMISTRY (GB) - (A Al Siyabi): Bumped on jumping then tightened for room shortly after, before shifting out and bumping another runner. MABROUKA (GB) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin before being eased off heels of another runner, then bumped and hampered by another runner. Held up for clear running from the 400 metres to the 200 metres. TEAM MEETING (USA) - (J Quinn): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. GENERAL LINE (USA) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly. Shortly after the start shifted in and became unbalanced, then bumped another runner and stumbled.

Stewards' Reports for Al Naboodah Group Enterprises - Automotive
The start of this race was delayed by approximately 3 minutes due to two runners being re-saddled on arrival at the barrier. J BE SPACE (ARG) - (P Cosgrave): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. ROY ORBISON (ARG) - (T O'Shea): Stewards granted trainer Mr A Al Rayhi permission to race the colt without a tongue-tie as it was fractious when attempting to apply the gear. Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. CENTENARY DIAMOND (USA) - (C Beasley): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. COZMO STAR (IRE) - (L Tarentaal): Slow to begin. GUNDOGDU (USA) - (R Ffrench): Bumped on jumping. MEQDAAM (USA) - (A de Vries): Re-saddled on arrival at the barrier. Slow to begin. Near the 250 metres, shifted out abruptly when attempting to gain clear running. Lost its left fore-plate during the race. OCEAN SNOW (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Re-saddled on arrival at the barriers PERTINACIOUS (USA) - (C O'Donoghue): Restrained off heels near 250 metres. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the colt, the rider explained that PERTINACIOUS (USA) was only having its second race start, didn’t stretch out on the turf and may be more suited to dirt racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to lame in the right hind-leg. Trainer Mr M de Kock was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for PERTINACIOUS (USA). RAZAM (USA) - (A McLean): Bumped on jumping and tightened for room shortly after. UNCLE NOBLE (USA) - (F Jara): Bumped on jumping, shifted in and bumped another runner. WAQQAD (USA) - (D O'Neill): Bumped on jumping then shifted out and bumped another runner. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for PERTINACIOUS (USA)(C O'Donoghue) being restrained and losing ground near the 250 metres. After taking evidence from riders C O’Donohgue (PERTINACIOUS (USA)) and A de Vries (MEQDAAM (USA)), Stewards were satisfied that when MEQDAAM (USA) shifted out to obtain clear running, the colt lay out despite the intentions of its rider resulting in PERTINACIOUS (USA), which was weakening, having to be eased by its rider. As Stewards did not believe that any rider was at fault, no further action was taken. Stewards inquired into the reason for OCEAN SNOW (USA)(S Hitchcott) clipping heels shortly after the start. It was established that OCEAN SNOW (USA) shifted in slightly when over-racing, clipped the heels of ARMY OF ONE (FR)(J Egan) which had shifted ground slightly. As Stewards believed that no one rider was at fault, no action was taken. An inquiry was adjourned into an incident near the 1000 metres where UNCLE NOBLE (USA)(F Jara) and MEQDAAM (USA)(A De Vries) appeared to lose ground, until 5pm Thursday 25 January, to allow all riders involved to be in attendance.

PIT STOP (IRE) - (M Barzalona): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be severely lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr S bin Ghadayer was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must pass a suitability test conducted by an ERA veterinary officer. TRADESMAN (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Reared in the barrier prior to the start, getting its front leg caught for some time. Was removed from the barrier and underwent a veterinary examination before being passed suitable to race. Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. Near the 1900 metres was checked to avoid the heels of another runner. Near the 500 metres was eased to avoid the heels when tightened by another runner. Near the 100 metres, lay out. Trainer Mr D Watson was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. ASLAN (USA) - (X Ziani): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding, trainer Mr S bin Ghadayer explained that ASLAN (USA) was suited by leading in today’s event and appreciated the further distance. JAAREF (IRE) - (J Crowley): Bumped on jumping. SAY NO MORE (IRE) - (P Dobbs): Raced wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider explained that the gelding raced flat throughout. General: Jockey R Mullen (HERALDIC (USA)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars of the charge being that near the 1900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of TRADESMAN (USA)(S Hitchcott), resulting in that gelding having to be checked by its rider. R Mullen had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race-meetings (Meydan 1st February 2018 & Al Ain 2nd February 2018). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account R Mullen’s good record and guilty plea. R Mullen was further reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when not clear of TRADESMAN (USA) near the 500 metres, resulting in that gelding being tightened for room and having to be eased by its rider.
