PROPOSED (GB) - (P Smullen): Bumped on jumping, shifted in and bumped another runner NOBELIUM (USA) - (C Beasley): On return to scale, the rider reported that the colt stopped quickly when placed under pressure in the straight. IN THE LOPE (IRE) - (M Guyon): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. MAILSHOT (USA) - (M Barzalona): Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 300 metres shifted out and bumped heavily with another runner. General: Jockey M Barzalona (MAILSHOT (USA)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for shifting out near approaching the 300 metres and bumping heavily onto the hindquarter of LINGUISTIC (IRE)(R Ffrench), who became unbalanced. M Barzalona had his license to ride in races suspended for two race-meetings (Meydan 3.1.2018 & Abu Dhabi 4.1.2018). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account M Barzalona’s guilty plea, good careless riding record and deemed the interference to be in the mid-range.
