AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) - (R Mullen): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. FOAAD (FR) - (J Crowley): Bumped on jumping, then shifted out and bumped another runner. MUNBAHER (FR) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly then tightened for room shortly after and bumped another runner. Making the course proper near the 1400 metres had to be checked when tightened for room to the inside of another runner. CHEIK ROQUE (FR) - (A Fresu): Bumped on jumping. CAKOUET DE BOZOULS (FR) - (S De Sousa): Over-raced in the early and middle stages. PADDY'S DAY (US) - (P Dobbs): Raced wide without cover throughout. MAWAHIB (FR) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly and refused to take part in the race. Trainer Mr E Lemartinel was advised that prior to the mare entering to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. General: Prior to correct weight being declared, S De Sousa rider of third place getter CAKOUET DE BOZOULS (FR) lodged an objection against AF AL SAJANJLE (AE)(R Mullen) being declared second place getter, alleging interference over the final 100 metres. On the evidence it was established that near the 50 metres AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) shifted out and bumped CAKOUET DE BOZOULS (FR), unbalancing that horse and resulting in CAKOUET DE BOZOULS (FR) having to ease off the heels of PADDY'S DAY (US). Taking into account the margin of a nose at the finishing post, Stewards were satisfied that had the interference not occurred CAKOUET DE BOZOULS (FR) would have finished in front of AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) and therefore, upheld the objection and amended the placings to first PADDY'S DAY (US), second CAKOUET DE BOZOULS (FR) and third AF AL SAJANJLE (AE). Stewards inquired into the reason for MUNBAHER (FR)(F Jara) having to be checked by its rider when tightened for room near the 1400 metres. It was established that shortly after the start in the 1600 metre chute, MUNBAHER (FR) shifted to a position inside of AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) (R Mullen), which had drawn barrier one, where initially there was clear running to do so. As the field ran onto the course proper MUNBAHER (FR) improved, when over-racing, resulting in it being tightened for room as AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) followed the course proper rail. In determining what action to take Stewards took into account that whilst there was initially room for MUNBAHER (FR) to the inside of AF AL SAJANJLE (AE), and the gelding over-raced to the inside of AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) despite the efforts of its rider, R Mullen should have been aware that there was room to his inside for a horse to have improved into that position and therefore he could have been more cautious. In reporting the interference as a racing incident and taking no direct action against either rider, Stewards still advised both riders to take care in similar situations in future.
