General: Jockey J Egan (DE BRUYNE HORSE (GB)) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), for carelessly permitting his mount to shift in near the 1400 metres when insufficiently clear of CENTENARY DIAMOND (USA)(S De Sousa), which had to be restrained as a result. J Egan had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race-meetings (Meydan 10.3.18 & Abu Dhabi 11.3.18). LINE HOUSE (GB) - (R Mullen): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. EXPRESSIY (FR) - (W Buick): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Near the 1800 metres shifted out and bumped another runner. SA'ADA (USA) - (A Fresu): Re-saddled at the start. On jumping was bumped and tightened for room. Near the 1800 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room. QUEEN ESTORIL (IRE) - (E Chaves): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. Near the 1800 metres shifted in slightly and bumped another runner. WINTER LIGHTNING (IRE) - (P Cosgrave): Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 800 metres the rider adjusted the right side iron. When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, the rider explained that in his opinion, WINTER LIGHTNING (IRE) did not concentrate during tonight’s event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for SA’ADA (USA)(A FRESU) being tightened for room and having to be steadied near the 1800 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 1800 metres SA’ADA (USA) was tightened for room between EXPRESSIY (FR)(W Buick), which shifted outwards slightly and QUEEN ESTORIL (IRE)(E Chaves), which shifted inwards slightly. As a result of the tightening SA’ADA (USA) had to be steadied. As the Stewards felt there was contributing factors with both EXPRESSIY (FR) and QUEEN ESTORIL (IRE) both shifting at the same stages and the interference suffered to SA’ADA not being significant, the matter was reported as a racing incident.
