CAPEZZANO (USA) - (M Smith): Over-raced during the middles stages and had to be steadied off heels near the 800 metres. SECOND SUMMER (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly, lost ground and refused to take part in the early part of the race. Trainer Mr D Watson was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. MUNTAZAH (GB) - (J Crowley): Had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the straight. MUSAWAAT (GB) - (A de Vries): Slow to begin. Had to be checked near the 800 metres when tightened for room. ADIRATO (JPN) - (C Lemaire): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be suffering from heat stress. SHAMAAL NIBRAS (USA) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin and lost ground. ECONOMIC MODEL (USA) - (J Rosario): On straightening, shifted in and bumped another runner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SECRET AMBITION (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. Between the 1200 metres and the 1000 metres bumped on several occasions with another runner. On entering the straight was bumped by another runner. AKITO CRESCENT (JPN) - (Y Take): Stumbled on jumping and bumped another runner. Travelled wide without cover in the middle stages. KIMBEAR (USA) - (P Dobbs): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have a laceration to the left fore-leg. ROSA IMPERIAL (IRE) - (M Barzalona): Travelled wide without cover in the early part of the race. Between the 1200 metres and the 1000 metres bumped on several occasions with another runner. RAVEN'S CORNER (IRE) - (R Mullen): On return to scale, the rider advised that the gelding had to work hard in the early stages to obtain a forward position and failed to run out todays’ distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be stressed and was treated by the on-course veterinarians. General: Trainer Mr D Watson (SECOND SUMMER (USA)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late request for the gelding to race in visors. Stewards inquired into the reason for MUSAWAAT (GB) (A de Vries) having to be checked near the 800 metres. On the evidence and available footage, it was established that near the 800 metres CAPEZZANO (USA)(M Smith) had commenced to over-race and had to be steadied, shifting inwards to avoid the heels of MUNTAZAH (GB)(J Crowley) and as a result tightened the running of MUSAWAAT (GB) which had to be checked. Stewards accepted the evidence from rider M Smith and noted that after shifting he immediately corrected his mount to relieve the pressure to MUSAWAAT (GB). As a result no action was taken.
