Trainer Ms. E Jeanne was advised that prior to the horse entering to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. SHAMIKHT AL DHAFRA (AE) - (J Rosales): Raced wide without cover throughout. RAMADI AL RAWASI (AE) – (P Sirigu): Checked near the 1000 metres when tightened for room. AMER AL SARAYA (AE) - (M Khan): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Bumped near the 1000 metres by another runner. ZED AL RIH (AE) - (A McLean): Lay out under pressure in the straight. BAROUD DE RODAIM (AE) - (G Mešetovic): Whilst parading behind the barrier became fractious and kicked its rider. Jockey G Mesetovic was examined by the doctor and passed fit to fulfill his engagement. BAROUD DE RODAIM (AE) was unable to be loaded into the barrier and therefore was a late withdrawal at 5.01pm. Trainer Mr S Al Mazrouei was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again, it must complete two satisfactory stalls tests. LA YFOOTKUM (AE) - (L Tarentaal): Rider could not offer an explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. THA'ER (AE) - (G Buckell): Bumped on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have sustained a superficial wound to the left fore-leg. General: Apprentice A Mclean (ZED AL RIH (AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used on 14 occasions. Stewards noted that this was A McLean’s first breach of this rule for the season. Jockey I Poullis (MH LAZZAZ (AE)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 1000 metres he made insufficient effort to keep his mount straight, taking AMER AL SARAYA (AE)(M Khan) in onto (RAMADI AL RAWASI (AE)(P Sirigu), resulting in that horse having to be checked. I Poullis had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 race-meetings (Abu Dhabi 17.12.2017 & Meydan 21.12.2017). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his good riding record, his guilty plea and deemed the interference to be in the mid-range.

BOWERY (USA) - (S Davis): Slow to begin. BRECHIN (GB) - (G Buckell): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. Became detached from the field from the 1200 metres and was eased out the race rounding the home turn. Rider reported that on entering the straight, he felt there was something amiss with the horse and for this reason dismounted BRECHIN (GB). A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the colt to have suffered an injury to its left fore-tendon. Trainer Mr K Al Mazrouei was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again it would need to pass a suitability test conducted by an ERA veterinary officer. LEGEND'S GATE (IRE) - (F Jara): After being placed in to the barrier, got its right fore-leg caught in the stall. Acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was unsuitable to race, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of LEGEND'S GATE (IRE) at 5.29 pm. Trainer Mr M Ramadan was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a superficial abrasion to the left fore-leg. PARKLIFE (IRE) - (A McLean): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped heavily with another runner. CHERKES PHAROAH (USA) - (P Sirigu): Bumped on jumping. CHIPPENHAM (IRE) - (B Pinheiro): Tightened for room on jumping when bumped heavily between other runners. ROSTAM (IRE) - (J Egan): Slow to begin. SOY BRITANICO (ARG) - (T O'Shea): Passing the 400 metres, shifted out under pressure.
