DARKENING (IRE) - (F Veron): A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which performed poorly, revealed DARKENING (IRE) to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr. I Mohammed was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must pass a suitability examination by an ERA veterinarian. HELLO (IRE) - (F Jara): Approaching the 200 metres eased off the heels of another runner. CINQ RUES (FR) - (J Rosales): Raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for HELLO (IRE)(F Jara) having to be eased near the 200 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that HAWKER (GB)(P Dobbs) had shifted in whilst under pressure, resulting in HELLO (IRE) having to be eased. Jockey P Dobbs was advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.

Approaching 1100 metres shifted out and raced wide without cover for the remainder of the race. On return to scale the rider advised that the colt raced greenly throughout. Trainer Mr. S Jadhav was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again, it must complete a satisfactory stalls test.

YABRAVE (GB) - (C Hayes): Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr N Bachalard was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. ARROWAY (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin and lost ground. ARCHER'S ARROW (USA) - (C Beasley): Near the 600 metres had to be eased when tightened for room. AU COEUR (IRE) - (R Mullen): Began awkwardly. Approaching the 500 metres was bumped and tightened for room by another runner. GUNDOGDU (USA) - (R Ffrench): A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, who won its last start, failed to reveal any abnormalities. AZMAAM (IRE) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin and lost ground. KIDD MALIBU (USA) - (B Curtis): On jumping shifted out and hampered another runner. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for ARCHER'S ARROW (USA)(C Beasley) having to be eased near the 600 metres and AU COEUR (IRE)(R Mullen) being bumped and tightened for room approaching 500 metres. On the evidence and available footage, it was established that approaching the 600 metres PHILOSOPHER (IRE)(X Ziani) commenced to shift in resulting in ARCHER'S ARROW (USA) being tightened for room and having to be eased. PHILOSOPHER (IRE) continued to shift inwards and approaching the 500 metres bumped AU COEUR (IRE), which was tightened for room. Jockey X Ziani was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding and notified he must do his upmost in preventing his mount from shifting ground in a similar situation.

Due to performing below expectation underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed the gelding to have an interference wound to the left fetlock, which required staples. SUTTER COUNTY (GB) - (C Beasley): Knuckled on jumping and bumped another runner. DAILY BULLETIN (USA) - (F Jara): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr A Al Rayhi was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for DAILY BULLETIN (USA). Due to NAJM SUHAIL (GB) being difficult to load in to the barrier the start of this race was approximately delayed 2 minutes. FEAR THE FURY (USA) - (C Beasley): Stumbled on jumping. MUTAWAKKED (IRE) - (D O'Neill): Began awkwardly. NAJM SUHAIL (GB) - (F Jara): Difficult to load and delayed the start of the race by approximately 3 minutes. Trainer Mr A Al Rayhi was notified that prior to the gelding being entered to race again it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. ROCKLEY (USA) - (R Ffrench): Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding why the horse lost considerable ground near the 1300 metres, the rider explained that after initially suspecting ROCKLEY (USA) had gone amiss, he commenced to ease the horse out of the race before realizing the saddle had shifted back and therefore was unable to ride ROCKLEY (USA) in his usual manner. ELSAAKB (USA) - (W Lee): Slow to begin and then was bumped by another runner, losing ground. KUNANI (USA) - (B Curtis): On jumping bumped another runner. IFTITAH (IRE) - (R Mullen): On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding raced greenly throughout and would benefit with blinkers being reapplied. IGLOO (FR) - (P Dobbs): On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding hung right over the final 300 metres. FORTUNE WRITER (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Shortly after the start, hampered when bumped by another runner. KALKRAND (IRE) - (J Rosales): Shortly after the start was bumped by another runner. LAKE HAWK (IRE) - (A McLean): On return to scale the rider advised that the horse took a lame stride on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have sustained an injury to its left-fore tendon. Trainer Mr. M Hussain was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again it must pass a suitability examination conducted by an ERA veterinarian. ROYAL HISTORY (GB) - (I Koyuncu): On jumping shifted out then hampered by another runner. General: Jockey B Curtis (KUNANI (USA)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was B Curtis’s first breach of this rule for the season.

Stewards noted that Trainer Mr S Seemar had sought prior approval to have ABOVE NORMAL (GB) ponied to the start, however due to no outrider being available the gelding was left unattended. The ERA will reassess how ponies are allocated for future meetings. Accordingly no action was taken against the gelding for its pre-race manners. ZAIN EMPIRE (GB) - (I Koyuncu): Reared at the start and lost ground. BOCHART (GB) - (A Fresu): Leaving the parade ring was reluctant to proceed to the starting gate. AL AFGANI (GB) - (E Chaves): Whilst a routine pre-race blood sample was being taken, the colt reared and struck its head. A subsequent veterinary examination did not reveal any immediate abnormalities. On arrival at the barriers, was examined by the veterinarian and deemed unsuitable to race due to having blood present in both nostrils. Acting on this advice the stewards withdrew AL AFGANI (GB) at 5:00pm. AL AFGANI (GB) underwent an endoscopic examination, which did not reveal any blood in the trachea. Mr. A Al Shamsi was advised that prior to AL AFGANI (GB) being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for the colt. ANACHRONISM (IRE) - (B Pinheiro): Rider reported that he dropped his whip at the 1000 metres. MEQDAAM (USA) - (F Bizzarri): Slow to begin. PERSIUS (USA) - (L Andrade): Slow to begin. QADIRIYYAH (GB) - (A Fresu): Hung severely left over the concluding stages. TOBRAVE (IRE) - (C Hayes): Began awkwardly.
