Near the 400 metres shifted out to obtain a clear run. MUBAJAL (GB) - (C Beasley): Fractious in barrier, reared as the start was affected and lost ground (3 lengths). Near the 700 metres brushed another runner. Trainer Mr A bin Harmash was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. KALAMAZOO (USA) - (X Ziani): Raced wide without cover during the middle stages. Near the 700 metres brushed another runner. SAILOR'S WAY (GB) - (R Ffrench): After leaving the parade ring was reluctant to proceed to the barrier, as the rider thought something may be amiss with the gelding. A subsequent veterinary examination passed the gelding suitable to race. As SAILOR'S WAY (GB) could not proceed to the barrier, Stewards ordered a late withdrawal of the gelding at 2:13PM. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have mild lameness to the right fore-leg. Trainer Mr A Al Shehhi was advised a warning would be placed against the gelding regarding its racing manners.

DIRECT MESSAGE (USA) - (O Doleuze): On jumping hampered when bumped by another runner and lost ground. Near the 1200 metres shifted out and hampered another runner. Lay out rounding the turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr A Al Rayhi was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. MUJEEB (GB) - (A Fresu): Shortly after the start hampered when bumped by another runner. PHILOSOPHER (IRE) - (R Ffrench): Slow to muster speed after jumping. Shortly after straightening was eased out of the race due to suffering a severe bleeding attack. Due to the severity of the bleed Stewards notified Trainer Mr S Jadhav that PHILOSOPHER (IRE), under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 90 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. FAST ENOUGH (IRE) - (P Dobbs): Refused to jump and took no part in the race. Trainer Mr D Watosn was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete two satisfactory stalls test in succession, which have to be conducted at a race course. ZAIN EMPIRE (GB) - (E Chaves): On jumping hampered when tightened for room between other runners. SPECIAL BOY (IRE) - (F Veron): On jumping hampered by another runner. Near the 1000 metres lost ground when hampered by another runner. PERFECT SENSE (GB) - (C Beasley): On jumping shifted in and hampered another runner. STILL LIFE (GB) - (F Jara): Near the 100 metres straightened by its rider when laying out. INITIAL (IRE) - (B Curtis): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Near the 100 metres eased off heels when laying in. General: Jockey W Lee (AL BAREZ (USA)) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. W Lee’s license to ride in races was suspended for 2 race meeting (Jebel Ali 28.12.18 and Sharjah 29.12.2018). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was W Lee’s fifth breach of the Rule this racing season, which is considered to be an extremely poor record.

Underwent a veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to race. Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 4.16pm. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lacerations in both hind-legs and a moderate size haematoma to its right shoulder.
