DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) - (P Dobbs): Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. IMPRISON (FR) - (P Convertino): Began awkwardly. Lay in under pressure in the straight. J BE SPACE (ARG) - (R Mullen): After being placed in the barrier, borrowed under the front gate and ran riderless for some distance before being captured. Stewards ordered a late withdrawal of the gelding at 6:30PM. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MERLION (IRE) - (I Koyuncu): Began awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding the rider explained that MERLION (IRE) did not feel comfortable in its action from shortly after the start and for this reason he did not persist in riding the gelding out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr M Hussain was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for MERLION (IRE). POWDERHOUSE (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Near the 800 metres the rider had to adjust his right side iron. DIRILIS ERTUGRUL (USA) - (F Veron): Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. RIVER OF GOLD (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Began awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding the rider could offer no explanation other than RIVER OF GOLD (IRE) failed to respond to his riding throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MANDOLIN LULLABY (USA) - (X Ziani): Approaching the 800 metres, when weakening shifted out and had to be restrained off heels. Rider reported that the filly had a tendency to hang right throughout. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for MANDOLIN LULLABY (USA) (X Ziani) having to be restrained approaching the 800 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 800 metres MANDOLIN LULLABY (USA), which had been hanging right, shifted out and as a result had to be restrained when racing tight to the inside of POWDERHOUSE (IRE). Stewards noted the evidence of Jockey X Ziani that his horse was the reason for the interference occurring and accordingly no action was taken.

He added that the colt felt fine on its action on return to scale. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. GRAND DAUPHIN (USA) - (B Curtis): Bumped heavily on jumping and became severely unbalanced. Raced wide without cover throughout. GUNDOGDU (USA) - (R Ffrench): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. CRY JOY (USA) - (C Beasley): Slow to begin then tightened for room shortly after. PARKLIFE (IRE) - (A McLean): Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner. MEARS (USA) - (O Doleuze): Bumped on jumping. DUBAWI'S THUNDER (GB) - (B Pinheiro): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rules 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr R Bouresly was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer.

A subsequent endoscopic examination revealed the colt to have a sinus bleed, which would not deem LACIENEGABOULEVARD (USA) as a bleeder. MNEEF (USA) - (X Ziani): On jumping hampered, when bumped, between other runners. Rounding the home turn shifted out around a weakening runner and bumped another runner. PRIVATE RYAN (USA) - (W Lee): Commenced awkwardly. On straightening was bumped by another runner. RAAYAN (USA) - (F Jara): Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. Near the 400 metres had to be steadied and shifted out when racing in restricted room between other runners. SHANAGHAI CITY (USA) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly resulting in the rider having to readjust his right side iron. Near the 400 metres shifted out when hanging and hampered another runner. On return to scale the rider advised that the colt hung right throughout, then near the 600 metres got its tongue over the bit. General: Jockey P Convertino was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for hitting his mount continuously without giving it a chance to respond.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be bilaterally short in front. Trainer Mr J Ramadhan was advised that prior to the filly being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for LITIGATION (GB). General: Jockey A de Vries (VALE DO SOL (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(iii) for failing to ride his mount fully out to the end of the race.
