WISHING FOR DAWN (GB) - (B Curtis): Slow to begin before being bumped by another runner. General: Stewards inquired into the reason Jockey S Hitchcott (HABAH (USA)) having to be checked near the 1000 metres when tightened for room. On the evidence and available footage it was established that HABAH (USA) had to be checked when racing in restricted room between RAZEENA (CAN)(P Dobbs), which had shifted out and AL HAYETTE (USA)(F Veron), which had shifted in after being carried in by AL MOORIYAAT (USA)(J Butterfield), which had shifted in whilst racing ungenerously, despite the efforts of its rider. As Stewards did not believe that this incident could be attributed to any one rider and as a result advised all riders to exercise more care in a similar situation. Stewards inquired into the reason Jockey C Hayes (SALAYEL (GB)) having to be eased approaching the 400 metres. On evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 400 metres, when commencing to give ground, SALAYEL (GB)(C Hayes) had to be eased when awkwardly placed close to the heels of AL HAYETTE (USA)(F Veron), which had shifted out and away from RAZEENA (CAN)(P Dobbs), which had also shifted out when placed under pressure. As Stewards did not believe that this incident could be attributed to any one rider, Stewards noted the rider’s comments and advised them to exercise more care when shifting ground in a similar situation.
