The start of the race was delayed by approximately 4 minutes due to the late withdrawal of JATHI (IRE). BRECHIN (GB) - (J Rosales): Slow to begin. Eased off heels when hampered near the 1200 metres. MUDAJAJ (USA) - (P Convertino): Commenced awkwardly and then shifted out and bumped another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr R Bouresly was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. GRECIAN SPIRIT (GB) - (B Curtis): When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider reported that GRECIAN SPIRIT (GB) may not have appreciated the gradient over today’s course. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. JATHI (IRE) - (C Beasley): Fractious in the barrier and burrowed under the front gate resulting in the gelding galloping rider-less for the length of the race, before being captured. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of JATHI (IRE) at 2:00pm. Trainer Mr A bin Harmash was advised that the gelding must complete a stalls test prior to entering to race again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have superficial lacerations. KILLDEER (IRE) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. OCEAN SNOW (USA) - (B Pinheiro): Bounded on jumping. PERTINACIOUS (USA) - (O Doleuze): Marginally slow to begin. RAVEN'S BACK (IRE) - (S Mazur): Approaching the 1200 metres was bumped by another runner and as a result shifted out, having to be eased off heels. RIVER OF GOLD (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly and was then bumped by another runner. SWORD OF TRUTH (IRE) - (S Al Balushi): Approaching the turn near 1200 metres lay out and tightened another runner. General: Trainer Mr K Al Mazrooei (BRECHIN (GB)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 28(iii) for use of the ERA colours.

The start of the race was delayed by approximately 4 minutes due to the incident in Race 1. TRADESMAN (USA) - (P Dobbs): A post-race veterinary examination of TRADESMAN (USA), revealed the colt to be suffering from atrial fibrillation. Trainer Mr D Watson was notified that prior to the colt entering to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating that TRADESMAN (USA) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed fourteen (14) days after the event. BERKSHIRE BOY (IRE) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin and unable to muster speed in the early stages. DOUBLET (IRE) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly. KUNANI (USA) - (B Curtis): Shifted ground outwards on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages and approaching the 1600 metres had to ease off the heels of another runner. Passing the 200 metres was bumped on two occasions by another runner. HERALDIC (USA) - (R Mullen): Shifted ground outwards on jumping. CAPE OF EAGLES (USA) - (W Lee): Passing the 200 metres shifted in and bumped another runner on two occasions. On return to scale the rider reported that after being hampered at the start his mount was placed at a disadvantage from that point and did not respond to his riding. LAHMOOM (USA) - (R Ffrench): On jumping bumped on the hind-quarters of another runner. SHANAGHAI CITY (USA) - (R Mullen): Hung right from the 600 metres. QUEEN MONACO (IRE) - (W Lee): Commenced awkwardly shifting out, bumping another runner on several occasions. WEALTH OF WORDS (GB) - (B Pinheiro): Acting on the trainers request to withdraw the filly on the grounds of inappatence and not being fit to start, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of WEALTH OF WORDS (GB) at 3:22pm. General: Stewards inquired into the reason why Mr O Daraj (WEALTH OF WORDS (GB)) initially attempted to withdraw the filly at 10.13am for being inappetent, however after discussions with the owner, changed his view and wanted WEALTH OF WORDS (GB) to race. After further question when arriving on course, Mr O Daraj stated that he would prefer to withdraw the filly and as such Stewards acceded to his request. Stewards noted that a veterinary examination of WEALTH OF WORDS (GB) rendered the filly suitable to race, however it was the direction that WEALTH OF WORDS (GB) was unfit to race by the Trainer. Accordingly Mr O Daraj was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 60(i) for the late withdrawal of the filly.

ONE SEASON (IRE) - (A de Vries): Jockey had to re-adjust his right side iron shortly after the start. SULTANAA (GB) - (F Veron): Slow to begin. Approaching the 200 metres had to be steadied off the heels of another runner. INITIAL (IRE) - (B Curtis): Rider eased the gelding down over the concluding stages. When questioned as to why the gelding was eased down, the rider explained that he felt INITIAL (IRE) had gone amiss behind. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr M Al Mheiri advised that they would have INITIAL (IRE) examined by their veterinarian on return to the stables and advise Stewards of the outcome. ISLAND SOUND (GB) - (S Mazur): Slow to begin and lost considerable ground. Near the 1100 metres restrained when tightened for room between other runners. IMPRISON (FR) - (P Convertino): Raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. ROCKLEY (USA) - (R Ffrench): Shortly after the start had to be steadied when racing in restricted room. General: Trainer Mr S Al Shamsi (JAZIRAT (IRE)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Instruction 18 for failing to produce the passport for the gelding.
