AL ZEEM (USA) - (B Pinheiro): On arrival at the barriers underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Difficult to load. Bounded on jumping and became extremely awkward. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider explained that AL ZEEM (USA) gave ground quickly when placed under pressure from the 800 metres and in the straight did not feel comfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr M Ibrahim was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. CODED (USA) - (G Buckell): Bumped on jumping by another runner. COSMIC GLOW (GB) - (T O'Shea): Raced wide without cover throughout. JOCKEY JOE (USA) - (S Al Mazrooei): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Mr D Watson further added that the gelding had only been working fair in the lead up to today’s event and that he was surprised by MIZBAH’s (GB) performance. ILLUSIONAL (GB) - (P Dobbs): Leaving the straight on the first occasion commenced to over-race. Between the 400 metres and 300 metres bumped with another runner on several occasions. LITIGATION (GB) - (A de Vries): Raced wide without cover throughout. BOWDITCH (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Raced wide without cover throughout. NATIVE APPEAL (IRE) - (D O'Neill): Slow to begin. On return to scale the rider reported that the colt shortened in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. CACHAO (GB) - (T O'Shea): Slow into stride and shortly after had to be checked off the heels of another runner. ALTHAAQIB (USA) - (A McLean): Near the 2000 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room between runners. Commenced to give ground from the 1000 metres. When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider reported that ALTHAAQIB (USA) which was having its first start in the UAE travelling well in the early stages, however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and gave ground from the 1200 metres. Apprentice A McLean further added it was his intention to ride the colt in behind the speed with cover and for this reason in the early stages when MIZBAH (GB) strode to his outside, he elected to restrain his mount to obtain cover. HUCKLEBUCK (USA) - (C Beasley): Commenced awkwardly. DIRECT MESSAGE (USA) - (S Al Mazrooei): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. DUTCH MASTERPIECE (GB) - (A de Vries): On arrival at the barriers underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having blood in its mouth and was passed suitable to race. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider stated that DUTCH MASTERPIECE (GB) hung right throughout and felt amiss over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. EJBAAR (GB) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly. Held up for clear running near the 350 metres. STRATTON STREET (USA) - (R Mullen): Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Bumped on jumping by another runner. Lay right when placed under pressure near the 300 metres. Approaching the 100 metres bumped by another runner. INDESCRIBABLE (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. LYTHAM ST ANNES (IRE) - (P Dobbs): Slow to begin. MUSTALLIB (IRE) - (F Jara): Shifting in on jumping and bumped another runner. GALESBURG (IRE) - (A Fresu): When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider explained that GALESBURG (IRE) never travelled well throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. WAY OF WISDOM (GB) - (C Beasley): Near the 200 metres had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between runners, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 100 metres shifted in and bumped another runner. IMPORTANT MISSION (USA) - (R Ffrench): Slow into stride. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for WAY OF WISDOM (GB)(C Beasley) having to be steadied near the 200 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 200 metres IMPORTANT MISSION (USA)(R Ffrench) shifted in marginally and STRATTON STREET (USA)(R Mullen) shifted out whilst under pressure, resulting in WAY OF WISDOM (GB) being tightened for room and having to be steadied. Stewards issued Jockey R Mullen with a reprimand under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding.
