The start of the race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to the bridle on BLOCKCHAIN (IRE) having to be re-adjusted and ZALMI STAR (USA) being difficult to load prior to the start. BLOCKCHAIN (IRE) - (A de Vries): The bridle on the colt had to be re-adjusted on arrival at the barriers. Commenced awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Held up for clear running from the 600 metres until approaching the 400 metres. COSMIC GLOW (GB) - (R Mullen): Raced wide without cover throughout. DALTREY (GB) - (D O'Neill): Hung right from the 600 metres until passing the 400 metres allowing another runner to obtain running to its inside. ZALMI STAR (USA) - (T O'Shea): Difficult to load. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. AL WAFI (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Slow to begin. ALLA MAHLAK (USA) - (B Pinheiro): Reared on jumping and as a result lost ground. Lay right under pressure from the 300 metres. Raced wide throughout. OFF WHITE (USA) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly losing ground. RAAYAN (USA) - (F Jara): Near the 400 metres when shifting ground momentarily became unbalanced. RULE OF HONOUR (GB) - (F Veron): Raced wide without cover before commencing to give ground near the 800 metres. General: Trainer Mr R Bouresly (ALLA MAHLAK (USA)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the colt with blinkers.

HOTOTO (GB) - (A de Vries): Having not started for 839 days, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be lame in the left hind-leg. Acting on this advice Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 6:12pm. Trainer Mr Y bin Ghilan was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again, HOTOTO (GB) must complete a suitability examination conducted by the ERA Veterinarian. SHAISHEE (USA) - (A Faisal): Slow to begin before being hampered by another runner. CHESS MASTER (IRE) - (A Fresu): On return to scale the rider reported that the gelding travelled well in the early stages, however as he commenced to turn, CHESS MASTER (IRE) commenced to hung out. A Fresu added that on straightening the gelding picked up and finished the race off well. IMPORTANT MISSION (USA) - (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. SALVADORI (IRE) - (B Pinheiro): Stumbled on jumping. Near the 900 metres restrained off the heels of another runner when making ground. EMIRATES SKYCARGO (IRE) - (S Mazur): Crowded for room on jumping when tightened for room between runners.

GUNDOGDU (USA) - (X Ziani): When questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding, Assistant Trainer Mr S Jadhav explained that GUNDOGDU (USA) had shown signs of coughing in its most recent starts when distanced from the winner and added that it had benefitted from the 68 day break from racing. Mr S Jadhav further added that the drop in weight for today’s event as well as an easy lead today went in the gelding’s favour. Mr Jadhav’s comments were noted. HIPSTER BOY (GB) - (E Chaves): Commenced to give ground from the 1000 metres. General: Trainer Mr D Watson (POWDERHOUSE (IRE)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the gelding with visors.
