SAMD AL KHALEDIAH (SA) - (C Beasley): Began awkwardly. AL BUSTAN (AE) - (J Grzybowska): Slow to begin. Lay left when under pressure in the straight. BIN CONCORD (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Stood flat-footed and lost ground (3 lengths). BOLEREAU (FR) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin. JABALINI (FR) - (S Mazur): Knuckled shortly after the start. ZORBA DEL MA (IT) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin. AF ALAREEQ (AE) - (F Veron): Raced ungenerously throughout. Near the 350 metres shifted in and away from another runner. AF ALMOHANAD (AE) - (R Mullen): On jumping shifted in and hampered another runner. MAGNUM (AE) - (A McLean): Began awkwardly. Near the 350 metres became unbalanced after clipping the heels of another runner. OPERA (US) - (F Jara): Hampered on jumping. OPTIMIZM (US) - (J Santiago): Slow to begin then hampered shortly after. AF TAHAN (AE) - (T O'Shea): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Hung left from the 600 metres until entering the straight. General: Apprentice A McLean (MAGNUM (AE)) was fined AED 1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 34(vi) for failing to ride at his minimum riding weight. Stewards inquired into the reason for MAGNUM (AE)(A McLean) becoming unbalanced and clipping the heels of AF ALAREEQ (AE)(F Veron) near the 350 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 350 metres AF ALMOHANAD (AE)(R Mullen) shifted in away from another runner, resulting in AF ALAREEQ (AE) shifting abruptly inwards and MAGNUM (AE), which was racing to the inside of AF ALAREEQ (AE) clipping that colt’s heels and becoming unbalanced. Stewards noted that R Mullen (AF ALMOHANAD (AE)) corrected his mount as soon as it shifted ground and took into account the racing manners of AF ALMOHANAD (AE) and AF ALAREEQ (AE), therefore took no action against any one rider.

EARNSHAW (USA) - (R Ffrench): Began awkwardly and lost ground. On return to scale the rider advised that the horse was reluctant to proceed to the barriers and was unsettled pre-race, which may have affected its performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH that may have affected its performances. GM HOPKINS (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Began awkwardly. HERMOSO MUNDO (SAF) - (B Fayd'Herbe): On return to scale the rider advised that HERMOSO MUNDO (SAF) travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure from the 1000 metres failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SALTARIN DUBAI (ARG) - (R Mullen): On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding is better suited to racing on dirt. WALK IN THE SUN (USA) - (X Ziani): When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on WALK IN THE SUN (USA), the rider advised that he was instructed to lead, however due to racing over a further distance than its previous starts the colt over-raced and led by further than he had intended. He added that WALK IN THE SUN (USA) would be better suited to racing on tracks firmer than yielding.
