LA YFOOTKUM (AE) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover. AL JAZI (AE) - (P Cosgrave): Near the 1000 metres shifted out abruptly and hampered another runner. AS SHAMEK (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres. AZRAFF W'RSAN (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Bumped on jumping. EIZ AL REEF (AE) - (J Rosales): Restrained when tightened for room passing the winning post on the first occasion. WANNAS AL REEF (AE) - (G Buckell): Shifted out on jumping and bumped another runner. ZAATAR AL REEF (AE) - (S Mazur): Slow to begin. General: Stewards inquired into an incident passing the winning post on the first occasion where EIZ AL REEF (AE)(J Rosales) appeared to lose ground, when racing between AF NAFECE (AE)(T O’Shea) and AS SHAMEK (AE)(B Pinheiro). On the evidence it was established that as the field approached the turn out of the straight, AF NAFECE (AE) shifted out abruptly off heels despite the efforts of it’s rider, and AS SHAMEK (AE) shifted in slightly. As Stewards believed that T O’Shea attempted to correct his mount as it shifted, and the minor contributing factor of AS SHAMEK (AE), they were not satisfied that the incident could not be attributed to any one rider and advised both riders to exercise care when riding in similar circumstances in future. Jockey J Rosales (EIZ AL REEF (AE)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that near the 700 metres he permitted his mount to shift outwards, while improving, when not sufficiently clear of JAP MUSK (AE)(E Chaves), resulting in that filly having to restrain and lose ground as a result. J Rosales had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 2 race-meetings (Meydan 22.11.18 and Al Ain 23.11.18). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account J Rosales’ guilty plea, good careless riding record and deemed the carelessness to be in the low-range.
