Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr. E Oertel was notified that the colt would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, then following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA stewards or veterinary officer. Raced greenly over the concluding stages. AL KHITAM (AE) - (P Cosgrave): After making contact with an advertising board in the parade ring, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed suitable to race. Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped another runner. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. ALI BABA DE RODAIM (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 1000 metres stumbled and dislodged its rider. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the colt to have sustained a fractured right shoulder and was humanely euthanized. RABE'A AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Slow to begin. AF MOT HEFA (AE) - (T O'Shea): Began awkwardly. AF RAWIAH (AE) - (R Mullen): A short distance after the start was bumped on the hindquarter by another runner. MARAYAH (AE) - (J Rosales): Bumped shortly after the start. NAZAA (AE) - (F Veron): On jumping was tightened for room and bumped another runner. Raced greenly over the concluding stages. General: Rider A Fresu (AF HAJEEJ (AE)) was fined AED1000 under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using his whip on 13 occasions, one more than is permitted. Stewards took into account that this was A Fresu’s second breach of this Rule this season. Rider B Pinheiro (ALI BABA DE RODAIM (AE)) was examined by the on-course medical staff and passed fit to continue riding.

QAITAR AL REEF (AE) - (G Buckell): Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barrier and found to be lame in the right hind-leg. AF MAHER (AE) - (T O'Shea): Raced ungenerously throughout. Rounding the home turn hung out. On straightening was bumped by another runner. DA'AREEN (FR) - (R Ffrench): On straightening hung out and bumped another runner. AMER AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Slow to begin. FARAR (GB) - (S Mazur): Slow to begin. MAHFOUZ (AE) - (J Rosales): Slow to begin, then bumped by another runner shortly after. SHADDAD AL WATHBA (AE) - (R Mullen): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. On return to scale the rider advised that the colt hung right throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have blood in its mount and damage to its bottom ride side tooth.
