When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider advised that ATTRIBUTION (USA) would be better suited over a further distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly lame in the left foreleg. LAA BAAS (USA) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. Was held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. DESERT SON (GB) - (K Kalychuran): Passing the 600 metres was steadied when racing tight between runners. DIRILIS ERTUGRUL (USA) - (F Veron): Slow to begin. Leaving the 600 metres was momentarily steadied when racing tight between runners. DRESS COAT (GB) - (X Ziani): Slow to begin. ENDLESS GOLD (GB) - (F Jara): Having not started for 838 days, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed suitable to race. GYPSY MOTH (USA) - (B Pinheiro): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed GYPSY MOTH (USA) to have a slow recovery, showing signs of distress and to be mildly lame in the right foreleg. Trainer Mr. A bin Harmash was advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for GYPSY MOTH (USA). JAFAR (USA) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider explained that JAFAR (USA) was unruly in the barriers prior to the start. He added that the colt travelled well in the early and middle stages, however weakened noticeably when placed under pressure from the 700 metres. Trainer Mr S bin Ghadayer stated that JAFAR (USA) will take benefit from having its first run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. RIGHT FLANK (USA) - (A McLean): Near the 800 metres had to be steadied and shift out to avoid the heels of a tiring runner. Approaching and turning into the straight was held up for a clear run. WOODDITTON (IRE) - (C Beasley): Slow to begin. ZALMI STAR (USA) - (R Mullen): When being loaded into the barrier the gelding reared and threw itself down, dislodging its rider. Acting on veterinary advice, the Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 7:41pm. Trainer Mr. S Seemar was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete two satisfactory stalls tests. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have soreness over its back and hip area. Trainer Mr. S Seemar was further advised that prior to the gelding entering to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for ZALMI STAR (USA). AUTUMN PRIDE (IRE) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. LUXOR TEMPLE (USA) - (N Garbutt): Slow to begin. General: Jockey R Mullen (ZALMI STAR (USA)) was examined by the Club’s Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfill his remaining engagements. Jockey S Paiva (BLAZING WORLD (USA)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for using his whip in consecutive strides on 2 occasions. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was S Paiva’s first breach of this Rule for the season.

BIG BROWN BEAR (USA) - (P Dobbs): When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding the rider could offer no explanation other than BIG BROWN BEAR (USA) was agitated in the mounting yard and on the way to the barrier, which may have affected his performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. GRAND ARGENTIER (FR) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin. Lay outwards under pressure in the straight. Had to be steadied when approaching the winning post on the first occasion. CONCLUSION (JPN) - (A Fresu): Bumped on jumping. SECRET TRADE (IRE) - (S Paiva): Raced wide without cover from the 1400 metres. SILKEN DANCER (GB) - (S Hitchcott): Having not started for 831 days, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed suitable to race. Bumped on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
