ETIJAAH (USA) - (D O'Neill): Hung in throughout. GALVANIZE (USA) - (P Cosgrave): Approaching the winning post on the first occasion lay outwards. DEHBASHI (USA) - (S Hitchcott): After the race and proceeding to the unsaddling area, DEHBASHI (USA) collapsed, dislodging it jockey. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress and as a result was treated accordingly by the Veterinary Officer. Trainer Mr D Watson reported that the following morning DEHBASHI (USA) pulled up sore behind. Further Mr D Watson was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for DEHBASHI (USA). TRIED AND TRUE (USA) - (P Dobbs): Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. MUDALLEL (IRE) - (C Beasley): Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, was carried outwards by another runner. On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding commenced to give ground when placed under pressure rounding the home turn. BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA) – (X Ziani): Impeded near the 600 metres when tightened for room. General: On return to scale, an objection was lodged by Jockey X Ziani (BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA), third placegetter against TRIED AND TRUE (USA)(P Dobbs), the winner, alleging interference near the 600 metres. After taking evidence from both riders, the Trainers of the respective horses and after reviewing all available video footage, it was established that although BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA) was impeded near the 600 metres, had the interference not occurred, the margin of 1 ¾ lengths between TRIED AND TRUE (USA) and BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA) was far too great for the Stewards to be satisfied to alter the placings. Further it could not be established that the reason for BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA) being impeded could be attributed to TRIED AND TRUE (USA). As a result the Stewards dismissed the objection and correct weight was declared. At a further inquired Stewards noted that BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA) may have been impeded between MUDALLEL (IRE)(C Beasley), which had commenced to weaken and TRIED AND TRUE (USA)(P Dobbs). As it could not be established if there was any significant shift from with MUDALLEL (IRE) or TRIED AND TRUE (USA), Stewards took no action was taken against any one rider other than to advise them to exercise more care in a similar situation. Jockey X Ziani (BOIS DE BOULOGNE (USA)) was warned regarding the merits of his objection under the provisions of ERA Rule 78(ii). He was advised that in the opinion of the Stewards his objection was bordering on frivolous.
