BILLINGSGATE (IRE) - (S Mazur): Raced wide without cover throughout. DAHAWI (GB) - (A Fresu): Knuckled on jumping and then bumped another runner. MIGHTLY (GB) – (P Dobbs): Bumped on several occasions with another runner in the early part of the straight. WILLIAM SAYLE (GB) - (B Pinheiro): Shifted out shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Restrained near the 1200 metres. ODYSSA (IRE) - (R Ffrench): Slow into stride. DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) - (S Hitchcott): On jumping got its head up. Over-raced in the early stages. SHEEBA (GB) - (A McLean): Began awkwardly then inconvenienced by another runner. DAVY LAMP (GB) - (P Graberg): Began awkwardly, unbalancing its rider then was bumped heavily by another runner. Passing the 1300 metres raced in restricted room and had to be steadied. On straightening obtained a run to the inside of another runner and then bumped on several occasions with that runner. TOWN'S HISTORY (USA) - (S Paiva): Bumped on jumping. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA)(S Hitchcott) having to be restrained near the 1200 metres. On the evidence it was established that DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) had commenced to over-race and was getting its head up as it resented the kickback, when SPEEDY MOVE (IRE)(R Mullen) shifted in. Stewards noted the rider’s comments that this incident was attributed to the racing manners of DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) and took no action against any rider. Stewards inquired into the reason for DAVY LAMP (GB)(P Graberg) being tightened for room in the straight. On the evidence it was established that MIGHTLY (GB)(P Dobbs) shifted out slightly on straightening allowing DAVY LAMP (GB) to improve to that gelding’s inside. Shortly after MIGHTLY (GB) shifted back in, resulting in both horses racing tight and bumping until near the 200 metres. Stewards noted that near the 250 metres MAYAADEEN (IRE)(D O’Neill) raced to the outside of MIGHTLY (GB), preventing MIGHTLY (GB) from reliving pressure to DAVY LAMP (GB). Stewards took no action in the circumstances other than to advise P Dobbs to exercise care when racing in restrictive room, in future. Jockey D O’Neill (MAYAADEEN (IRE)) was reprimanded under the provision of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of WILLIAM SAYLE (GB)(B Pinheiro) near the 1200 metres, resulting in that gelding having to be restrained.
