When queried, rider J Doyle reported that after initially being held up for a clear run in the early part of the straight it was his intention to shift out and follow DREAM CASTLE (GB) and LOXLEY (IRE), however after gathering momentum he shifted in to obtain clear running before having to shift abruptly out off the heels of DUBAI HORIZON (IRE), near the 200 metres. EPIC HERO (FR) - (W Buick): Slow into stride. SETTLE FOR BAY (FR) - (P Dobbs): Slow to begin and was tightened for room shortly after. STYLEHUNTER (GB) - (R Powell): Slow to begin. When questioned regarding his tactics in the race, the rider explained he wanted to settle in a forward position and after beginning well from a wide barrier he allowed the gelding to stride forward and obtain the lead, however he was unable to restrain in the middle stages. HISHIKARI (USA) - (R Mullen): When questioned regarding the reason for easing the gelding down in the straight, the rider explained that turning into the straight HISHIKARI (USA) appeared to lose its stride in front and for this reason he eased the gelding down. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Trainer Mr S Seemar advised the following morning that HISHIKARI (USA) had pulled up well with no obvious abnormalities. MAGNIFICENT MCCOOL (USA) - (R Ffrench): Bumped on jumping. MOQTARREB (GB) - (S Paiva): Bumped on jumping. Near the 200 metres was bumped and tightened for room by a weakening runner.
