AF SANAD (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Approaching the 1000 metres, when racing ungenerously, raced in restricted room and had to be checked, bumping heavily with another runner. ASSUAN (FR) - (F Jara): Shortly after the start bumped by another runner and restrained. BANDAR (FR) - (J Rosales): Bumped on jumping. BURJ AL ARAB (FR) - (S Paiva): Approaching the 1000 metres bumped heavily with another runner and lost ground. MH RAHAL (AE) - (T O'Shea): Shifted in quickly on jumping bumping heavily with another runner. OFFICER (US) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly. RB SO RICH (US) - (A Fresu): Commenced awkwardly. Restrained approaching the 1000 metres. MUNOWRA (FR) - (N Garbutt): Raced wide without cover throughout. RB LAM TARA (US) - (F Veron): Slow to begin. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for AF SANAD (AE)(B Pinheiro) having to be checked approaching the 1000 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that approaching the 1000 metres AF SANAD (AE), which was racing ungenerously and in restricted room, bumped heavily with BURJ AL ARAB (FR)(S Paiva), that had to eased off the heels of RB SO RICH (US)(A Fresu), which was tightened for room by MH RAHAL (AE)(T O’Shea). Taking into account the racing manners of AF SANAD (AE), Stewards took no action other than to advise Jockey T O’Shea to exercise more care when shifting ground in a similar situation.
