Commenced awkwardly. Near the 300 metres was bumped heavily by another runner and became unbalanced. Trainer Mr A Al Mehairbi was advised that prior to entering the colt to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. JAP ANEED (AE) - (F Jara): Rounding the home turn raced in restricted room for a short distance and had to be steadied. RB SEQONDTONONE (US) - (R Powell): Slow to begin. Near the 300 metres was forced outwards when shifting off the heels of another runner and as a result bumped heavily with another runner. WILL POWER (US) - (P Cosgrave): Slow to begin. WMA AFAR (US) - (S Al Balushi): Raced wide without cover throughout. FERDOUS (FR) - (A Al Balushi): Shortly after the start commenced to hang outwards. FUTOON (FR) - (J Rosales): Slow to begin. Lay out under pressure over the concluding stages. General: Trainer Mr I Al Hadhrami (MARMARA XM (US)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the filly with cheek pieces. Stewards inquired into the reason for JAP ANEED (AE)(F Jara) having to be steadied rounding the home turn. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the 500 metres JAP ANEED (AE) had improved to the outside of MARMARA XM (US)(N Garbutt), which had commenced to weaken and as a result was awkwardly placed on the heels of JAP AL KAHF (AE)(R Ffrench). JAP ANEED (AE) raced in restricted room for a short distance and had to be steadied. Stewards took no action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in a similar situation. Apprentice A Al Balushi (FERDOUS (FR)) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), the particulars of the charge being that approaching the 300 metres he permitted his mount to shift outwards, resulting in RB SEQONDTONONE (US)(R Powell) being taken outwards and bumping heavily with DAGUI LOTOIS (FR)(R Mullen), which was unbalanced. A Al Balushi had his license to ride in races suspended for three race meetings (Meydan 02.01.2020, Al Ain 03.01.2020 and Meydan 04.01.2020). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account A Al Balushi‘s good careless riding record and guilty plea.
