ASHTR (AE) - (R Mullen): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. MADYAT ALKHALEDIAH (SA) - (C Beasley): Commenced awkwardly and bumped another runner. Near the 1000 metres checked off the heels of another runner. NAWARA SB (OM) - (A M Al Balushi): Slow to begin. Shortly after the start bumped another runner. SHAFAF (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin. Shortly after the start raced in restricted room. On straightening steadied when held up for a clear run. Near the 100 metres was bumped by another runner. THABET AL REEF (AE) - (S Mazur): Commenced awkwardly. Near the 100 metres shifted in and bumped another runner when attempting to improve through the field. WAHAG SB (OM) - (S Al Balushi): Near the 1100 metres was bumped by another runner. ES ENTISAR (AE) - (N Garbutt): Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. ISHAARA (AE) - (E Chaves): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Approaching the 200 metres checked off the heels of another runner. AF MOHANAK (AE) - (T O’Shea): Near the 1000 metres checked off the heels of another runner. General: Trainer Mr. M Al Shamsi (WAHAG SB (OM)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the filly without blinkers, however with visors. Stewards inquired into the reason for MADYAT ALKHALEDIAH (SA)(C Beasley) having to be checked off heels near the 1000 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that near the 1000 metres AF AL FATIH (AE)(S Kirrane), which was racing ungenerously, shifted outwards abruptly away from another runner, resulting in MADYAT ALKHALEDIAH (SA) having to check off that horse’s heels. AF MOHANAK (AE)(T O’Shea) which was following MADYAT ALKHALEDIAH (SA), had to be restrained and shifted out off the heels of MADYAT ALKHALEDIAH (SA). Stewards attributed to this interference to the racing manners of AF AL FATIH (AE). Jockey S Mazur (THABET AL REEF (AE)) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground, in that near the 100 metres he rode his mount inwards when attempting to improve and bumped SHAFAF (AE)(S Hitchcott). Jockey F Veron (RB HOT SPOT (US)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that approaching the 200 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ISHAARA (AE)(E Chaves), which had to be checked. F Veron had his license to ride in races suspended for three race-meetings (Meydan 20.02.2020, Jebel Ali 21.02.2020 and Sharjah 22.02.2020). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account F Veron‘s guilty plea and good careless riding record.

The start of the race was delayed by approximately 5 minutes due to the late withdrawals of ATHAB ALAWDA (AE) and SS JALMOD (AE). HAWAFEZ (AE) - (S Al Balushi): On straightening shifted out and bumped another runner. RB HOT DATE (US) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly. AL MUHALHAL AL THANI (AE) - (S Mazur): Lost its right hind-plate during the race. ALABER (AE) - (R Tart): Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Near the 1000 metres was momentarily steadied off heels of another runner. On straightening was bumped by another runner. ATHAB ALAWDA (AE) - (N Garbutt): On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination at the request of its rider. After being found to be lame in the right fore-leg Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the mare at 5:28pm. Trainer Mr. R ben Attia was advised that prior to the mare being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for ATHAB ALAWDA (AE). ES NAHAWAND (AE) - (F Jara): Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. SS JALMOD (AE) - (A Fresu): The one-eyed blinker was removed from the gelding on arrival at the barrier, however after establishing that it was the correct equipment, the blinker was reapplied. Fractious in the barrier and got under the front of the barrier partition. Acting on veterinary advice, that SS JALMOD (AE) was unsuitable to start, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 5:34pm. Trainer Mr. S Seemar was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. General: Jockey S Mazur (AL MUHALHAL AL THANI (AE)) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground, in that near the 1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ALABER (AE)(R Tart), which had to be momentarily steadied.

AF MEKHBAT (AE) - (A Fresu): Shortly after the start was eased off the heels of another runner, when laying in. Shifted out over the concluding stages. AF MOBASHER (AE) - (I Maghraoui): Slow to begin. Brushed another runner near the 600 metres. AS ATOOF (AE) - (R Tart): Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide without cover in the early stages.
