On the evidence it was the Steward’s opinion that approaching the 400 metres ELSA DU BIBAL (FR)(S Kirrane) shifted out resulting in FAIZA (FR) having to be restrained, before making contact with SANAD (FR)(N Garbutt) which shifted inwards as a result of the contact. Apprentice S Kirrane was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in a similar situation. Jockey S Mazur (OMANIA (GB)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA 69(i) for careless riding, in that near the 300 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ALWOROOD (AE)(F Veron) which had to be restrained.

ES ABU MOUSA (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Eased down by its rider in the straight. On return to scale the rider reported that he have felt something may be amiss. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr I Aseel was advised that prior to the colt being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for ES ABU MOUSA (AE). JAP ANEED (AE) - (R Ffrench): Near the 1000 metres shifted out abruptly and dislodged its rider. MUSHEER AL WATHBA (AE) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin.
