HISHAM AL KHALEDIAH II (SA) - (C Beasley): After being placed in the barrier attempted to burrow under the front of the gates. Underwent a veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 6:31pm. Trainer Mr H Al Alawi was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. On the evidence and available footage, it was established that passing the 400 metres THULBASEERA AL JASRA (FR)(S Mazur) shifted outwards abruptly when being struck with the whip, resulting in SAKEEBA (FR) being bumped heavily on the hind-quarters. Stewards noted that Jockey S Mazur straightened his mount shortly after shifting ground in an attempt to prevent any interference and as such took no direct action. Jockey S Paiva (AF METAWED (AE)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 14 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was S Paiva’s first breach of this Rule for the season.
