DINAR AL KHALEDIAH (SA) - (A M Al Balushi): Began awkwardly and lost ground. RB KINGS BAY (US) - (A Al Balushi): Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. AF ALMAJHAZ (AE) - (R Mullen): Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Passing the 900 metres bumped another runner. INTHAR (AE) - (S Al Balushi): Began awkwardly and brushed another runner. Passing the 900 metres bumped another runner. On straightening shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip. DEDAL DE PINE (IT) - (I Al Balushi): Began awkwardly. General: Trainer Mr A Al Mehairbi (ALGHARBI (AE)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 31(i)(e) for failing to notify the ERA of the vaccination update to ALGHARBI (AE). Trainer Mr A Al Shehhi (SS LAMEA (AE)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 28(iii), for use of the ERA colours. Trainer Mr M Al Shamsi (ZF HAKEEMAH (OM)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 28(iii), for use of the ERA colours. Further, Trainer Mr M Al Shamsi (ZF HAKEEMAH (OM)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the mare with a tongue-tie. Stewards inquired into the reason AF ALMAJHAZ (AE)(R Mullen) being restrained and bumping another runner near the 900 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the 900 metres RB KINGS BAY (US)(A Al Balushi) shifted out when not sufficiently clear of AF ALMAJHAZ (AE), resulting in that gelding shifting out to avoid RB KINGS BAY (US) and bumping with INTHAR (AE) (S Al Balushi) on several occasions. Stewards noted the evidence of Apprentice A Al Balushi that RB KINGS BAY (US) had shifted out rounding the turn, however reprimanded Apprentice A Al Balushi for careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) and reminded him that he must do his utmost to correct his mounts when shifting ground in future.

Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr D Watson was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. FAWAAREQ (IRE) - (A McLean): Lay in under pressure in the straight. GRAB AND RUN (IRE) - (A Al Balushi): Lay in under pressure in the straight. NIGHT CASTLE (IRE) - (S Al Balushi): On jumping bumped between other runners and lost ground as a result. DUBAI CANAL (GB) - (T O'Shea): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. ROYAL SANDS (FR) - (R Mullen): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. DANGEROUS THOUGHT (USA) - (S Mazur): Began awkwardly. TRENCHES (USA) - (R Curatolo): On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination at the request of the rider and found unsuitable to race. Acting on this advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 7:27pm. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right fore-leg. Trainer Mr A Daud was advised that prior to the gelding being entered to race again, he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for TRENCHES (USA). LAHMOOM (USA) - (R Ffrench): On straightening lay outwards. General: Jockey T O’Shea (DUBAI CANAL (GB)) was fined AED 4000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was T O’Shea’s third breach of this Rule for the season.
