SHAWALL (AE) - (J Rosales): Shifted out on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout. WAKEEL W'RSAN (AE) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. Over the concluding stages repeatedly shifted ground, when racing greenly. AS ATOOF (AE) - (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. RAFIIA (AE) - (R Iacopini): Began awkwardly, shifted in then tightened for room shortly after. General: Trainer Mr. M Al Shamsi (WAHAB SG (OM)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 31(i)(e) for failing to notify the ERA of the vaccination update to WAHAB SG (OM). Jockey R Iacopini (RAFIIA (AE)) was fined AED 2000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for using his whip in consecutive strides. In assessing the penalty, Stewards took into account that this was R Iacopini’s second breach of this Rule for the season.

AF MUQNA'A (AE) - (C Beasley): On jumping was bumped by another runner. AL BATEEN (AE) - (R Curatolo): Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Shortly after the start had to be steadied when racing ungenerously. Rounding the home turn shifted outwards abruptly when racing ungenerously, then continued racing ungenerously in the straight. DJINGO AL REEF (AE) - (P Cosgrave): On jumping shifted out abruptly and bumped another runner. Eased down by its rider near the 1000 metres. Lost its left fore-plate during the race. When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider explained that shortly after the start he felt that DJINGO AL REEF (AE) had gone amiss and as a result he commenced to ease his mount down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly lame in the left fore-leg. JAMILA (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin. MAHBOOB AL REEF (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Slow to begin. MOBHIR ASK (AE) - (R Iacopini): On arrival at the barriers rider changed his colours. Began extremely awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. QASSIM (AE) - (H Lebouc): Shortly after the start was bumped by another runner. SAIF AL BEDA'A (AE) - (S Paiva): Slow to begin. SAKB W'RSAN (AE) - (R Mullen): On return to scale the rider reported the colt made a respiratory noise during the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SAWT ASSALAM (AE) - (S Mazur): Lay out from the 800 metres for a short distance. ZAINHUM (AE) - (F Veron): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. General: Apprentice R Iacopini (MOBHIR ASK (AE)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 13 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was R Iacopini’s first breach of this Rule for the season.

When questioned regarding his riding over the concluding stages, rider S Hitchcott explained that after shifting in when commencing to weaken ABEER (AE) made contact with the running rail twice near the 300 metres, then from this point he rode his mount hands and heels to his line. In noting S Hitchcott’s explanation, Stewards reminded S Hitchcott to leave no room for questioning of whether he rides his mounts out to the line. AF ABAYEH (AE) - (A Fresu): On jumping taken out by another runner. AF KHARISSA (AE) - (T O'Shea): Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Approaching the winning post bumped by another runner. AL AJAYIB (AE) - (R Curatolo): Commenced to lay out passing the 1000 metres. On straightening shifted in and bumped another runner. Over the concluding stages had to be steadied off the heels of another runner. AQ ALANOOD (AE) - (R Ffrench): Was fractious in the horsebox enroute to the race course and as a result underwent a veterinary examination on arrival, revealing the filly to have abrasions to both hind-legs however suitable to race. On jumping hampered between other runners. Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1000 metres. FOAH (AE) - (F Veron): Approaching the winning post was bumped by another runner. JANNAT (AE) - (J Rosales): Eased down by its rider near the 1200 metres. When questioned regarding the performance of the filly, the rider explained that shortly after the start he felt that JANNAT (AE) may have gone amiss and for this reason he commenced to ease his mount down. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. RAWAAT AL REEF (AE) - (C Beasley): Raced greenly from the 300 metres. On straightening was bumped by another runner. FERTILE DU CROATE (FR) - (R Ffrench): After being loaded got its left-foreleg over the front of the barrier and as a result underwent a veterinary examination and was deemed unsuitable to race. Acting on veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 6:31pm. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr. I Aseel was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test.

RAGHIDA (FR) - (S Mazur): Approaching the 1000 metres was restrained when tightened for room between other runners and lost ground. Lost its right-hind plate during the race. AF LAMIA (AE) - (R Curatolo): Approaching the 1000 metres shifted out slightly when racing close to the heels of another runner and hampered another runner. MARWA W'RSAN (AE) - (R Ffrench): Checked when tightened for room near 500 metres. A post-race visionary examination revealed the mare to be mildly lame in the right fore-leg. NAYROUZ (FR) - (F Jara): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout. OPTIMIZM (US) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin. RB DIXIE HONOR (US) - (A Fresu): Began awkwardly. General: Trainer Mr. M Al Jahoori (NAYROUZ (FR)) was fined AED 250 under the provisions of ERA Rule 31(i)(e) for failing to notify the ERA of the vaccination update to NAYROUZ (FR). Apprentice H Lebouc (ARJAN (FR)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(i) for hitting his mount in front of the saddle whilst holding the whip in the forehand. Stewards took into account that this was H Lebouc’s first breach of this Rule for the season. Stewards inquired into the reason for MARWA W'RSAN (AE)(R Ffrench) having to severely check near the 500 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that rounding the turn, AF LAMIA (AE) (R Curatolo) shifted inwards before being straightened by its rider, resulting in BREHAAN (FR)(R Mullen) who was racing behind having to ease across that mare’s heels. In this incident MARWA W'RSAN (AE) which was racing behind BREHAAN (FR) had to be checked. Taking into account the racing manners of AF LAMIA (AE) and the immediate correction by the rider in an attempt to avoid further incident, Stewards reported the matter as a racing incident and advised R Curatolo to continue to do his utmost to keep his mounts straight in future.

RIFLESCOPE (IRE) - (R Mullen): Began awkwardly and lost ground. ZORION (GB) - (P Cosgrave): Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1500 metres eased off heels when over-racing. Near the 1200 metres shifted in and brushed the running rail. HORNSBY (GB) - (X Ziani): Near the 400 metres shifted out abruptly when struck with the whip. WASIM (IRE) - (F Veron): Commenced to over-race from the 1200 metres. Approaching the 1000 metres when continuing to over-race had to be eased off other runner. BLEU MARINE (IRE) - (H Lebouc): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrthymia. Trainer Mr. A bin Harmash was notified that prior to the gelding entering to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating that BLEU MARINE (IRE) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed fourteen (14) days after the event. CARRINGTON (FR) - (S Hitchcott): Slow to begin. Taken off its course rounding the home turn. Eased off the heels of another runner near the 400 metres. General: Trainer Mr. A Al Shemaili (EL CHAPO (GB)) was fined AED 250 under the provision of ERA Rule 28(iii) for use of the ERA colours. Stewards inquired into the reason for CARRINGTON (FR)(S Hitchcott) having to restrain near the 400 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that rounding the home turn HORNSBY (GB)(X Ziani) shifted out, when laying, taking CARRINGTON (FR) out off its course. Shortly after straightening HORNSBY (GB) then shifted outwards abruptly when struck with the whip, resulting in CARRINGTON (FR) having to be eased by its rider. In the circumstances Stewards were of the opinion that Xavier Ziani corrected his mount as soon as it commenced to shift, therefore could not place blame him for the ease to CARRINGTON (FR), and put the interference down as a racing incident.
