AF MOBASHER (AE) - (M Abik): Commenced awkwardly throwing its head. AF NAFECE (AE) - (N Crosse): Slow to begin. Eased when racing in restricted room near the 400 metres. Approaching the 300 metres had to be checked when tightened for room. DASSAN DA (BE) - (P Cosgrave): Raced wide without cover throughout. FAHADD (FR) - (R Mullen): Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Trainer Mr J de Roualle, on behalf of Trainer Mr J-C Pecout, that the horse was fractious in the horse box whilst travelling to the races, FAHADD (FR) underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the right hind-leg. Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of FAHADD (FR) at 3:55pm. Trainer Mr J-C Pecout was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, he must produce a veterinary certificate of fitness for FAHADD (FR). OPTIMIZM (US) - (S Mazur): Slow to begin. FATHIA DE CARRERE (FR) - (S Al Balushi): Commenced awkwardly, threw its head and shifted outwards. BOLEREAU (FR) - (A Al Balushi): Slow to begin. General: Apprentice A Al Balushi (BOLEREAU (FR)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that approaching the 300 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of AF NAFECE (AE)(N Crosse), who was tightened for room and had to be checked and then further shifting inwards onto AF HADDAF (FR)(A Ffresu), who was tightened for room and had to checked. Apprentice A Al Balushi had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race meetings (Meydan 07.01.2021, Jebel Ali 08.01.2021 and Sharjah 09.01.2021). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account A Al Balushi’s good careless riding record, his guilty plea and assessed the carelessness to be in the low-range.

IRISH FREEDOM (USA) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly and shifted in. Was held up for a clear run rounding the home turn. Lay out under pressure near the 200 metres. ALNADIR (USA) - (F Veron): Over-raced in the early stages. HARBOUR SPIRIT (FR) - (A de Vries): Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. HYDE PARK (GB) - (X Ziani): When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding, the rider explained that he was instructed to lead the event and did not expect to be challenged for the lead as HYDE PARK (GB) was stepping up significantly in distance. He added that near the 1900 metres when ALNADIR (USA) raced close to him in a forward position, HYDE PARK (GB) commenced to over-race and he found it difficult to settle the gelding, as a result leading the event by a greater margin than he had intended. Further, he was of the opinion that HYDE PARK (GB) will be suited running over 2000 metres in the future.
