Other comments: Horses that have not started in more than 365 days underwent a pre-race veterinary examination by the ERA Veterinarian and were passed suitable to race. AL AMIRAL (FR) - (R Ffrench): Reared on jumping and lost ground. ZALMAN (FR) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be eased. JAWAL AL REEF (AE) - (F Jara): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 1200 metres shifted out to obtain a clear run and raced wide without cover for the remainder. RB GRYNADE (US) - (F Veron): Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be restrained when tightened for room. NO RIESGO AL MAURY (FR) - (H Lebouc): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. Raced greenly in the straight, shifting ground on multiple occasions. MORJANAH AL REEF (AE) - (J Santiago): Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for RB GRYNADE (US)(F Veron) having to be restrained passing the winning post on the first occasion. On the evidence and available footage it was established that RB GRYNADE (US) had to be restrained when tightened for room by AF YATROQ (AE)(B Pinheiro), which was held tight by WAADH (FR)(R Mullen). Stewards noted that WAADH (FR) had a tendency lay inwards, however Jockey R Mullen was attempting to relieve any pressure prior to the incident. As such no further action was taken other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in a similar situation.

AS ATOOF (AE) - (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. SUNDUS (AE) - (H Lebouc): On jumping bumped by another runner. ZAHEE (FR) - (C Lecoeuvre): Eased down by its rider passing the 1000 metres. When queried, the rider stated that ZAHEE (FR) stumbled near the 1000 metres and thereafter eased his mount down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore-leg. Trainer Mr A Al Shemaili was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, it must complete a suitability examination conducted by the ERA Veterinarian. FERTILE DU CROATE (FR) - (S Mazur): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. FUTOON (FR) - (F Veron): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. AF SEVEN SKIES (FR) - (B Pinheiro): Near the 1200 metres eased when tightened for room. BOLEREAU (FR) - (R Mullen): Raced wide without cover for the majority. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for AF SEVEN SKIES (FR)(B Pinheiro) having to be eased near the 1200 metres. On the evidence and available footage it was established that passing the 1200 metres ZAHEE (FR)(C Lecoeuvre) shifted out when insufficiently clear of AF SEVEN SKIES (FR), which had to be eased as a consequence. Jockey C Lecoeuvre was advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.

REBEL STREAK (GB) - (F Veron): Held up for a clear run rounding the home turn. STRICKER (GB) - (R Ffrench): Marginally slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH and mucous that may have affected the gelding’s performance. ADVENTUROUS (IRE) - (S Paiva): Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages. BOLD REX (SAF) - (N Crosse): Lay out under pressure in the straight. GREELEY (IRE) - (P Cosgrave): Rounding the home turn was tightened for room and had to be eased on two occasions when awkwardly placed on the heels of another runner. Held up for a clear run over the final 100 metres and near the 50 metres checked off the heels of another runner when unable to improve his position. MASHAHEER (GB) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for GREELEY (IRE)(P Cosgrave) being tightened for room and having to be eased rounding the home turn. On the evidence and available footage it was established that rounding the home turn ADVENTUROUS (IRE)(S Paiva) shifted out to improve around LOG OUT ISLAND (IRE)(F Jara) and in doing so tightened the room of GREELEY (IRE), which had to be eased. Shortly after LOG OUT ISLAND (IRE) shifted outwards slightly resulting in ADVENTUROUS (IRE) having to shift out further and again GREELEY (IRE) becoming awkwardly placed on heels and having to be eased. Jockey S Paiva was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA 69(i) for careless riding regarding the first part of this incident and advised to exercise more care in a similar situation.
