ZF HAKEEMAH (OM) - (A M Al Balushi): Slow to begin. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion had to be restrained. BAAHER (FR) - (R Curatolo): Veered out abruptly passing the 200 metres. HELIOS DE FAUST (FR) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly. OXFORD (US) - (S Mazur): When making ground over the concluding stages had to be restrained when disappointed for clear running between other runners. RAHI (AE) - (S Paiva): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. General: Stewards inquired into the reason for ZF HAKEEMAH (OM)(A M Al Balushi) having to be restrained approaching the winning post on the first occasion. On the evidence and available footage it was established that HELIOS DE FAUST (FR)(P Cosgrave) shifted in when insufficiently clear of ZF HAKEEMAH (OM), who was attempting to be restrained by its rider. P Cosgrave was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding, for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear. Further, Jockey A M Al Balushi (ZF HAKEEMAH (OM)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 11(e) for providing evidence during this enquiry that in the opinion of the Stewards was misleading.

As there were no suitable riders available, Stewards allowed Apprentice S Al Balushi (AF SEVEN SKIES (FR)) permission to ride 0kg over at 55.5kg. TAYSEER (FR) - (F Veron): On jumping bumped by another runner from the inside, shifted out and bumped another runner. Shortly after the start was tightened for room, restrained by its rider and lost ground. WHISTLE (US) - (H Bentley): When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, the rider reported that WHISTLE (US) will be better suited over a further distance than today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. AF ASHRAS (AE) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly. DASSAN DA (BE) - (P Cosgrave): On jumping bumped and hampered between other runners. Shortly after the start tightened for room, restrained by its rider and lost ground. THULBASEERA AL JASRA (FR) - (R Curatolo): On jumping shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, bumped and hampered another runner. BLUE DIAMOND (AE) - (B Pinheiro): Bumped on jumping. FAKHR (FR) - (A Al Balushi): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced ungenerously when struck with the whip. Passing the 50 metres shifted in and bumped another runner. SS JALMOD (AE) - (A de Vries): Bumped on jumping. DASTOUR (FR) - (S Mazur): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. AF NAFECE (AE) - (A M Al Balushi): Passing the 200 metres bumped another runner. Near the 50 metres was bumped by another runner. FERTILE DU CROATE (FR) - (S Hitchcott): Bumped on jumping. General: Apprentice A Al Balushi (FAKHR (FR)) was reprimanded, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(c)(vii) for using his whip in consecutive strides. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was A Al Balushi’s first breach of this Rule for the season. Further, Apprentice A Al Balushi was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i) for careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear of other runners in the straight.

Passing the 1000 metres shifted in and bumped another runner. Near the 1800 metres bumped another runner. Rounding the home turn was hampered when attempted to be savaged by another runner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. DERGHAM ATHBAH (GB) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. Passing the 1000 metres bumped by another runner. FAHD AL WATHBA (AE) - (S Hitchcott): Raced wide without cover in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider advised FAHD AL WATHBA (AE) raced greenly throughout. He added that the colt may not have appreciated the turf surface. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. GANDALF DE POMPADOUR (FR) - (S Al Balushi): When questioned regarding the performance of the colt, the rider advised GANDALF DE POMPADOUR (FR) travelled well but could not stay the distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly lame in the right fore-leg. HEROS DE LAGARDE (FR) - (S Mazur): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. MUJEEB (FR) - (F Veron): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner, shifted out and bumped another runner. Lay out leaving the straight on the first occasion. Near the 1800 metres bumped another runner. MUNFARED (FR) - (F Jara): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Trainer Mr A Al Mehairbi was advised that prior to entering the colt to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. MUTAQADIM (FR) - (R Curatolo): Dislodged it rider on the way to the barrier. On arrival at the barrier underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Passing the 400 metres attempted to savage another runner. OTTOMAN (US) - (A de Vries): Saddle had to be adjusted on arrival at the barrier. Slow to begin. SAMAU XMNSOR (AE) - (B Pinheiro): On arrival at the barrier dislodged it rider and was quickly remounted. General: Jockey R Curatolo was examined by the Clubs Medical Doctor and was passed fit to fulfil his riding engagements. Jockey R Curatolo (MUTAQADIM (FR)) was fined AED 4000, under the provisions of ERA Rule 69B(a) for using the whip to excess, in that he used it on 15 occasions. Stewards took into account that this was R Curatolo’s third breach of this Rule for the season.
