The start of the race was delayed by approximately 4 minutes due to the Club’s Medical Doctor being unavailable on track. AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) - (T O’Shea): Lost its left fore-plate during the race. AMWAJ (FR) - (F Veron): After the race it was reported that the mare had a loose left-front shoe. RB TEXAS HOLD EM (US) - (P Dobbs): Reared as the start was affected and lost ground. Held up for a clear run for a short distance near the 600 metres. PIKARD (RU) - (N Crosse): After the race it was reported that the horse had a loose left-front shoe. GOSHAWKE (US) - (A de Vries): Lay out under pressure in the straight. WINKED (US) - (S Hitchcott): Raced wide without cover throughout. MARGHAM DUBAI (FR) - (R Ffrench): Commenced awkwardly, throwing its head and lost considerable ground (8 lengths). General: Trainer Mr D Watson (SAUTERNES AL MAURY (FR)) was fined AED 500 under the provisions of ERA Rule 51(vii) for the late equipment change to race the horse with visors and without a hood.

CATANIA (GB) - (A Fresu): Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 1200 metres had to be restrained off the heels of another runner. JUMEIRAH JANE (USA) - (N Crosse): Near the 1200 metres shifted inwards. LATE MORNING (IRE) - (H Crouch): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. General: Apprentice N Crosse (JUMEIRAH JANE (USA)) was reprimanded under the provisions of ERA 69(i) for careless riding, in that near the 1200 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of CATANIA (GB)(A Fresu), resulting in that filly having to be restrained. In assessing the incident the Stewards took into account the racing manners of CATANIA (GB) who was over-racing.

AL MURQAB (CAN) - (S Hitchcott): Commenced awkwardly. Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped another runner. KUCHISABISHII (USA) - (X Ziani): Bumped on jumped. Raced wide without cover throughout. SHAMRAN (USA) - (T O'Shea): Bumped shortly after the start. UNDERWATER ATTACK (GB) - (H Bentley): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the colt, the rider explained that UNDERWATER ATTACK (GB) that was having its first start on dirt and did not appreciate the kickback. He added that when he placed the colt under pressure rounding the home turn UNDERWATER ATTACK (GB) continued to lose ground from the remainder of the field and from this point he eased the colt out from the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

TRADESMAN (USA) - (P Dobbs): Raced without cover in the early stages. SECRET TRADE (IRE) - (S Paiva): Bumped on jumping. GUNDOGDU (USA) - (X Ziani): On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH and mucus that may have affected the gelding’s performance. MULFIT (USA) - (D O'Neill): On jumping shifted out and bumped another runner. BLUE SOVEREIGN (IRE) - (C Lecoeuvre): Slow to begin. KANOOD (USA) - (A de Vries): Commenced awkwardly. PHILOSOPHER (IRE) - (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. IMMORTALISED (GB) - (T O'Shea): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
