Other comments: Horses that have not started in more than 365 days underwent a pre-race veterinary examination by the ERA Veterinarian and were passed suitable to race. AF AL SAJANJLE (AE) - (G Avranche): On jumping shifted out and brushed another runner. On return to the stable Trainer Mr E Oertel advised that the horse lost its left front-plate and an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of mucus that may have affected the horse’s performance. ASSUAN (FR) - (H Lebouc): Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped another. BRRAQ (FR) - (A de Vries): Commenced awkwardly. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight. DAGUI LOTOIS (FR) - (A Fresu): Slow to begin. ES AJEEB (AE) - (P Cosgrave): When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, the rider reported that ES AJEEB (AE) failed to respond when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH that may have affected the horse’s performance. FETTAH DU LOUP (FR) - (H Bentley): Slow to begin. JAYIDE AL BORAQ (MA) - (B Pinheiro): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. When questioned regarding the performance of the horse, the rider reported that JAYIDE AL BORAQ (MA) did not feel right throughout however traveled well and for this reason he rode his mount to the line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have lameness to its right fore-tendon. Trainer Mr K Al Neyadi was advised that prior to entering the horse to race again, JAYIDE AL BORAQ (MA) must pass a suitability examination conducted by an ERA Veterinarian. RB TORCH (US) - (C Beasley): Bumped on jumping. SHAHM (FR) - (R Ffrench): Slow to begin. TAYMOUR (FR) - (F Jara): Raced wide without cover throughout. RAWAA (FR) - (S Mazur): Bumped on jumping. RB MONEY TO BURN (US) - (F Veron): Commenced awkwardly. On return to scale the rider could offer no explanation for the mare’s poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

LUCIUS TIBERIUS (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 1500 metres had to be steadied when racing close to the heels of another runner. Was held up for a clear run from the 600 metres until approaching the 300 metres. BOERHAN (GB) - (A de Vries): On jumping shifted out. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider advised that BOERHAN (GB) over-raced in the early stages and was not suited to the slow pace throughout, as a result when placed under pressure rounding the home turn failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, however an endoscopic examination revealed a degree of EIPH that may have affected the gelding’s performance. RASTRELLI (FR) - (F Veron): Slow to begin. For a short distance was unable to improve its position rounding the home turn. CASEY JONES (IRE) - (A Fresu): When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider advised that CASEY JONES (IRE) would be better suited racing on a dirt surface. MUZDAWAJ (GB) - (S Mazur): Slow to begin and was marginally tightened for room. On straightening had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room between other runners. ABOVE N BEYOND (GB) - (F Jara): Raced wide without cover in the early stages. CAPE CAVALLI (IRE) - (W Buick): Shortly after the start was bumped on the hind-quarter by another runner. PIECE OF HISTORY (IRE) - (P Cosgrave): Commenced awkwardly. SANAD LIBYA (USA) - (R Mullen): Slow to begin. On return to scale the rider reported that the colt would be better suited racing on a dirt surface.

The start of the race was delayed by approximately 3 minutes due to BLOWN BY WIND (GB) undergoing a veterinary examination and having to be re-saddled. ODE TO AUTUMN (GB) - (R Mullen): On jumping bumped by another runner. BLOWN BY WIND (GB) - (R Ffrench): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Saddle had to be re-adjusted. Commenced awkwardly and lost ground (5 lengths). Trainer Mr S bin Ghadayer was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. HYPOTHETICAL (IRE) - (M Barzalona): On jumping shifted in and bumped another runner. COMMANDING (IRE) - (T O'Shea): When questioned, the rider advised that COMMANDING (IRE) travelled well in the early and middles stages, however rounding the home turn the colt mistrode and felt amiss, for this reason he eased COMMANDING (IRE) out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame in the left front-leg. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that prior to entering the colt to race again, COMMANDING (IRE) must pass a suitability examination by an ERA Veterinarian.
