KARNAVAAL (IRE) - (J Crowley): Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider advised that KARNAVAAL (IRE) jumped well and it was not his intention to race in a forward position, however after racing keen in the early and middle stages he settled towards the front of the field. He added that the gelding failed to run out tonight’s distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the right fore-leg. TRADESMAN (USA) - (A de Vries): When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, the rider advised that TRADESMAN (USA) failed to respond to his riding throughout and stopped quickly as if something had gone amiss. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrthymia. Trainer Mr D Watson was notified that prior to the gelding entering to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating that TRADESMAN (USA) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed fourteen (14) days after the event. GALAXY ROAD (USA) - (N Crosse): Stood flat-footed, shifted outwards abruptly and took no part in the race. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete two satisfactory stalls tests. ARCH GOLD (USA) - (S Hitchcott): Stumbled on jumping and lost ground. On return to scale the rider advised that the gelding never travelled well throughout and on pulling up appeared to be in distress. A post-race veterinary failed to reveal any abnormalities. BOOK REVIEW (GB) - (M Barzalona): Fractious in the barrier prior to the start. When questioned regarding the improved performance of BOOK REVIEW (GB), Trainer Mr S bin Ghadayer advised that BOOK REVIEW (GB) had its first start for his stable at Jebel Ali on the 8th January 2021, over 1600 metres where the gelding ran a nice race indicating he would be better suited to a further distance. He added at BOOK REVIEW’s (GB) most recent start on the 23rd January 2021, at Al Ain, he failed to handle the kickback and the stable was extremely disappointed with his performance. Additionally BOOK REVIEW (GB) had recovered well from its start seven days earlier and this evening at Meydan appreciated racing on the dirt surface, being able to obtain an unchallenged forward position. Stewards noted his comments. Further, Mr S bin Ghadayer was advised that prior to entering the gelding to race again, it must complete one satisfactory stalls test. SPRING JIG (USA) - (S Paiva): Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr D Watson was notified that the mare would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer.
