Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey R Mullen (BEHAVIORAL BIAS (USA), which was placed third, to view the photo finish. TIBASTI (FR) - (M Guyon): Slow to begin and bumped another runner. DESERT DOCTOR (IRE) - (A Atzeni): Approaching the 1000 metres had to be eased when racing in restricted room. TAAMOL (IRE) - (J Crowley): Commenced awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr A Al Rayhi was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. MATTERHORN (IRE) - (M Barzalona): Commenced to weaken from the 800 metres before collapsing near the 600 metres, dislodging its rider. MATTERHORN (IRE) was attended to by the veterinary officer, however was deceased shortly after the incident. A post-mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death. When questioned the rider advised that MATTERHORN (IRE) never travelled well throughout and approaching the 600 metres felt as if he had gone amiss. OASIS CHARM (GB) - (R Curatolo): Slow to begin. Near the 1200 metres restrained off heels when over-racing. Rider accidently dropped his whip near the 400 metres. General: Jockey M Barzalona was examined by the Club’s Medical Doctor and was deemed unsuitable to fulfil his remaining engagement.
