Acting under the provisions of ERA Rule 21B(a)&(e), Trainer Mr D Watson was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or veterinary officer. MAILSHOT (USA) - (M Barzalona): On return to scale the rider advised that rounding the home turn the gelding lost its action on a number of occasions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. EXPRESSIONIST (IRE) - (R Mullen): Commenced awkwardly and shifted out. LYTHAM ST ANNES (IRE) - (S Hitchcott): When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding the rider advised that LYTHAM ST ANNES (IRE) resented the kickback throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SHARAMM (IRE) - (T O'Shea): Approaching the 1100 metres was tightened for room and had to be checked. General: Jockey A de Vries (MADKHAL (USA)) pled guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of ERA Rule 69(i), in that approaching the 1100 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of SHARAMM (IRE)(T O'Shea), resulting in that horse being tightened for room and having to check. A de Vries had his license to ride in races suspended for three (3) race meetings (Meydan 25.02.2021, Al Ain 26.02.2021 and Sharjah 27.02.2021). In assessing penalty Stewards took into account A de Vries’s good careless riding record, his forthright evidence which included a guilty plea and assessed the carelessness to be in the low-range.
